I bought a cheap 10 dollar HDMI cable for my PS3 but I've noticed something odd.
When watching a movie, regardless of the format that when the movie changes scenes that I can still faintly see the image of the last scene. It's very obvious during dark scenes.
I'm not sure if I need a more expensive cable or what but I could use some advice.

I can't say mine has ever done anything like that before. The HDMI cable I have hooked up to mine is kind of middle of the road, $17ish I thnk on sale at Target.
Could it be something with the PS3 itself or the TV?

Yea it doesnt sound like an HDMI cable. Sounds more like its a problem with your PS3 or TV.

Hmm, possibly it's the PS3 then. Cause the tv doesn't do that when watching digital cable, which isn't hooked up to an HDMI. The images don't stay burned in, so it's more of an annoyance than an actual problem. I'd just hate to drop more money on a new cable and it not be the issue. Wish I could find out for sure.

$$$$ DOES NOT equal quality when it comes to HDMI cables. I bought both of mine on Amazon for a penny each, three years ago, and they still give me top quality picture and sound.

Yeah doesnt sound like a cable. DO NOT get fooled by those $60 cables. There catch is its coated with gold so the signal will travel through the wire better but the truth is its only gold plated on the tips not the whole wire therefore the faster signal it claims to generate is a bunch of nonsense.

Good to know. I'm probably going to buy another cheap cable just to see if maybe this particular one is a dud.

Yeah I mean There might be fully gold plated wires which would give you a cleaner signal as gold is a better conductor but I have yet to see one that wasn't just "gold tipped". Anyways I got a cheapo one and Because it was bent at a weird angle my PS3 got a fuzzy signal so I replaced it with one of the bendable hdmi cables and problem solved but have never heard of your situation.
