Update on Sabin. I just threw on John Cena's dog tags and British Bulldogs jacket for more of a MCMG look.
I apologize for the quality of the photo. Unfortunately, the flash makes the head look much darker than it is in person.

I finally got around to getting the supplies I needed to start really making some progress with my customs/fix-ups. I'm really proud of all you're about to see, hence why I'm posting them. I hesitated in posting them here, as well as the Fix Up board, however some people may not venture over there.
I'm going to start off with some older stuff that was solely posted on the Mattel Fix Up board.
Constructive criticism is always welcome.
Chris Sabin
It's a somewhat original attire. I wanted a combination of 2003-2004 and present. The figure is mostly E12 Cody Rhodes with the trunk designs acetoned off. The arms and lower legs are from a Basic Series Evan Bourne. Technically he's still a WIP because I'm thinking of adding something to the trunk, but not sure how comfortable I am painting designs yet. I may go to Hobby Lobby to see if I can find some alien stickers similar to the alien head he once had.
MXW Referee (still working on a name)
This one was extremely simple, but gets the job done. I needed a ref for the upcoming resurrection of my fed. I bought a TTL Tazz from ebay for the purpose of only using the head. I acetoned off the white wrist tape and orange lines on the pants, popped on a Brent Musburger (which has often been used for some type of official over the years), and added the referee shirt I bought from Wrestling Superstore. Perfect.
Chris Benoit
Legends Ricky Steamboat mostly. I painted the wrist tape, hair, and 5o'clock shadow. Now all I need is some decals for the tights and he'll be finished. I'd much prefer the Austin torso but the I worked with what I have. Plus, I can't crack torsos yet.
CM Punk
Just a simple repaint on the hair but makes a HUGE difference.
Daniel Bryan
I absolutely hate the scan for Bryan but it's what I have for now. I decided to try and make the best out of it. I think it looks loads better, however I still can't wait to grab a bearded scan.
Dusty Rhodes
I decided to follow many others in making the WWF Version of the "American Dream" into the Dusty we remember most. I think I did a great job considering his run was long before I'd even heard of professional wrestling. I used Goof Off to remove all the polka-dots from the attire, painted on some white wrist tape, and added a red knee pad to the elbow. I didn't think I could love this figure more, but I was wrong.
Shawn Michaels
I thought I'd never get my hands on a Mattel Shawn Michaels figure, however I got lucky on a random trip to TRU one day. I'm still absolutely thrilled to have HBK in my collection but the figure needed some slight modding. I did the best I could with the chest hair. I swear I must've redone it 20 times before finally becoming content with what you now see. I attempted to add highlights to the hair but with my lack of skill became a full repaint. I'm happy with the outcome. As Bob Ross always said, "We don't make mistakes; we just have happy accidents." I'm probably going to leave the eyebrows. I could easily paint them but they don't bother me that much. The necklace was something that I hadn't planned but somehow had the pieces to make thanks to my girlfriend's doll hobby. It doesn't fit in the era but it'll look really nice on E19 if I ever come across it.
Bam Bam Bigelow's jacket
I finally got around to adding the detail to Legends Bam Bam's entrance jacket. This was a pain considering there aren't many reference photos to go off of. I used the few I could find through Google, plus a couple of others' painting of the jacket. Overall I think it looks great. I even went ahead and painted the wrist cuffs as well. I've added a little yellow since the taking of the photos above. BBB is still one of Mattel's best figures.
My first attempt at sculpting
I'm going to attempt to make this into a '90s Terry Funk. I may even sculpt on the bandana.
Taz/Tazz WIP
Misc. photos
This is where I've been placing the figures in the sealer stage.
And just for fun I thought I'd snap a photo of my work area. My desk is typically not such a mess unless I'm painting and such.
This past week I've spent a few hours each night painting and creating. I've really enjoyed it! Hopefully this is just the beginning. I'm really considering going into the customs business and trying to make some money doing something I enjoy.
Thanks for looking!
