Why didn't he just go out and buy one? That's what bothers me. He's greedy.

Side note - his life savings are $2600? To me that is the saddest thing about the story. Thats what I was going to comment on; at 30 I would hope someone has a little more savings than $2,600. If this event is any indication of his spending track record then I'm not all that surprised.

You had $2,600 in savings.....why not just buy Xbox Kinect? That was my thought. He doesn't deserve to get his money back.

His life savings was less than a weekly paycheck for me. You mean to tell me that you make OVER 2,600 a WEEK? Why do I find that hard to believe... Believe it. On an average week I can make around 5000 but from that I have to take out to maintain my truck. Fuel, Insurance, Plates, Parking, sometimes Motels, it all depends. But I do usually take home a nice decent amount, more than what that guy saved up. Of course my pay changes from time to time, all depending on where I go, what I haul, who the customer is.

The average truck driver makes $54,000/yr You're claiming to make $5000/week, which is $260,000/yr. Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, okay.

That's the number I just got from google too. 54,ooo is what I would expect to be paid if I was driving a small 20 foot straight truck. Not a 53 foot semi tractor trailer.
