I was excited to get my rsc package today . I ordered a cactus jack for my good friends bday sunday. i open rhe mailing box only to find that there's a big paint smudge on his shirt! The whole "D" in dead is smudged(ill post pics later) so I call rsc and they say to email a pic which I did only to get a generic email to contact mattel for a replacement(which thy dont have) All I wanted was a damn figure that wasint damaged now I won't have the figure to give my friend Sunday so pissed.

Thats unfortunate when that happens. Ive been pretty lucky when it comes to buying online so far at least. A Heritage Big Show I ordered had a bent card and my RSC Bret had the box caved in a bit but not badly. Havent had any problems with smudges so far thank goodness. Those are quite annoying.

Return it to RSC. Buy another one. Yeah, you're out shipping more than likely, but you'll get your Cactus.... right?
Straight from the FAQ:
What is your return policy?
Returns can be accepted up to 30 days after the packages are shipped as long as the items are unopened. Returns cannot be accepted if items are opened, worn or played with. Ringside Collectibles is not responsible for items that are broken once opened. If an item is broken once opened the manufacturer should be contacted.

Contact RSC and tell them you'd like to return it. Case closed.

The big deal is it seems like their go to response is always contact mattel. If I went into walmart or tru they wouldn't tell me that. If you want to be a certified retailer then make your customers happy. It's the least you can do when you charge more than double retail for most exclusives at some point also for more wanted/ short stocked items. It seems like all they want is your money and no customer service at all what is that crap

Maybe hit up one of the RS Staff on here. They might be able to help you out.

You were told to send the item back and would be reimbursed for your return shipping costs, and the replacement shipment. Following those suggested directions would absolutely work out in your favor.
Unfortunately, though a pain for a collector, a 't-shirt smudge' isn't exactly a world ending issue for a retailer. While that would generally be something we wouldn't cover return shipping costs on, we were willing to do that for you. Just awaiting a calmer response.

No where in my email was I told I'd be reimbursed for shipping. It said I'd get a replacement figure at no cost to me.
You can return the figure back to us and we will send you a replacement at no cost to you. You would be responsible for the shipping back to us of the one that you have though
That tells me ill get a replacement figure shipped at no cost to me but I have to pay to ship it back. So essentially ill be paying around $7 dollars more for the figure because I have to ship it back how exactly does that work in my favor? There was a problem with the merchandise that I paid for so why should I be responsible for paying to get a replacement

There was a problem with the merchandise that I paid for so why should I be responsible for paying to get a replacement I'm telling you now, in your particular case, to mention what I'm telling you here. You will be reimbursed when we receive it as long as you choose the cheapest possible shipping method. There may have been a problem with it, but like I said before, it is a minute problem. I am using my authority to help you out here, despite you threatening a credit card charge back. Unfortunately we don't have the time or the man power to analyze thousands of Cactus Jack figures to make sure the printed text is exactly right so yes, generally all orders are referred to Mattel in those situations or just told to be sent back with no reimbursement from customer service as a first resort. This time, though, you will be taken care of. Remember to use coupon code WFIGS to take 10% of your future orders with us. Thanks.

That's a bit ridiculous, you did nothing wrong and yet you have to be out the $7 to ship it back because of their mistake. $7 bucks might not seem like a lot to some, but that's a meal on my table. Their the company who specializes in figures this shouldn't have happen and it's bad business. I am with you on this one you should call your credit card company, hell sue them if you have to!

I had to send back a figure due to a packing error. I paid for the return shipping and RSC credited my account once they received the figure back. Probably three days after I mailed it. Which is what Tom pretty much explained in the post above.

I think its nice of RSC to replace it at no cost. Also I believe I was told that when you make a order with them you can email them with the order number and request that your figures be as close to mint as possible.

If RSC didn't have them pay the return shipping first and then recredit you account after they get the retun like the are doing for Master of the World and did in past for others like Mr Hoss I could guarantee that there would be a mass rise in "so called" defective figures that got lost in the mail during return shipping. Just like how once one person posted about the vouchers Mattel send for broken figures all of the sudden it seemed every new member here seemed to have purchased damaged figures and were asking what numbers they needed to give Mattel to receive the free figure voucher. (which was funny because if they had the figures they claimed were broken they would have already known seeing they are printed on the figures) I see nothing wrong with RSC having them pay the return shipping first.
