What brand of gold leaf paint do you use? The bottle just says Rich Gold Leaf Finishes from Sheffield Bronze Paint Corp. Picked it up at a local craft store for ~$5. Just make sure you mix it very thoroughly before opening, like twice as long and twice as hard as you would mix a bottle of acrylic paint before opening for use.

I've used gold leaf paint before, but the couple of brands I used would always turn color and fade after a while.

I haven't experienced any fading or discoloration problems. It never gets the belts quite as shiny and metallic looking as the vac ones, but it is still a dramatic improvement.

The belts look like they're from a dollar store figure.

I actually wanted that box set for the Austin, but I've never seen it in any of the Target stores within 200 miles of here.

Yay! Another complain thread. KIDM said it right. Basic packs, you get basic figures and basic belts. The colored and detailed belts are reserved for the Elite line.

That Attitude Big Eagle belt looks more like the penny tag titles..haha.. Yeah, I'm not liking these dull belts they release with the basic figures... That Champion collection set would probably sell really well if they included the shiny titles instead of those dull ones...

I am goona say dont use gold leaf! first of all the process involves the gold leave having to stick to a binder (glue) in the set then depending on the brand the process could be a rubing or a flaking. EIther way it takes some skill and practice, and as previously stated it will never look as shinny as vac belts.
I sugesst get some craft paint thats gold and as shinny as can be. again nothing will look like a vac belt but this will make em look better.
I painted the tag belts gold cause a TITLE BELT SHOULD BE GOLD!!!!!!! not a 3rd place bronze! and it looks ok I am pleased enough with it
