WCWA Synthetic 17
May 17th 2006
Cox Pavilion
Las Vegas, Nevada
Delusions of Grandeur is in the books. Debuts were made and roster shake ups have occurred. Now, WCWA moves forward on the road to Helter Skelter, with the first Synthetic of a new month!
Six Person Tag Team Match
The Kings of Wrestling (Chuck Taylor, Chris Hero, & Sara Del Ray)
vs.
CJ Otis, Shane Douglas, & Delirious
The Kings of Wrestling have made their intentions clear, they are out for themselves and they don't CARE about the well being of WCWA. Three roster members have taken offense to this, former tag team champion Delirious, long time color commentator with a new career resurgence Shane Douglas, and newly debuted and much hyped CJ Otis. On the next Synthetic, this strange bedfellows trio will do battle with the combined forces of the World Tag Team champions, Chris Hero & Chuck Taylor, and WCWA American Joshi champion Sara Del Ray, for an explosive six person tag team contest!
WCWA Junior Heavyweight Grand Prix
Michael "The Bomber" Facade
vs.
Jimmy Jacobs
On this month's television, a round robin style grand prix will be taking place within the junior heavyweight division. Everyone in the grand prix will face everyone else at least one time. Points will be kept for the tournament, 2 points for a win, 0 points for a loss, 1 point for a draw. The winner of the grand prix, theoretical, should walk away with the World Junior Heavyweight title as well, since the title will be in play in all applicable grand prix matches. On this edition of Synthetic, the newly aligned BLK Out, Michael "The Bomber" Facade has his first grand prix match up against the distraught Jimmy Jacobs. While Facade's Delusions of Grandeur was very successful, scoring three points in the tag team gauntlet, Jimmy Jacobs' was anything but. He was eliminated early in the gauntlet, then later in the night, found the answer to the burning question "Where is Lacey?" when she entered for the battle royal with Jimmy's former friend Nathan Kelley, now once again "Spyder" Nate Webb. Will Jimmy be able to focus again and will a new found rage lead him to victory? Only time will tell
WCWA Junior Heavyweight Grand Prix
WCWA World Junior Heavyweight Title Match
"Tremendous" Emil Sitoci (c)
vs.
"The Man Gravity Forgot" Pac
Barely removed from Delusions of Grandeur and a hard fought match against Thirteen, Emil Sitoci must start what will be the most grueling series of matches in his title reign. For him to retain his World Junior Heavyweight championship, he must defeat five other wrestlers, and run the gauntlet of the Grand Prix. His first grand prix match may be his hardest, against former World Tag Team champion Pac. This is Pac's first opportunity at the World Junior Heavyweight title, a championship that he seems to be a natural fit in. Will the Kings of Wrestling member be able to prevail, proving the phrase "The Kings Reign Supreme" true, or will "The Man Gravity Forgot" defy gravity and the odds to capture the World Junior Heavyweight championship? Find out only on Synthetic!
Tag Team Match
The BLK Out (Eddie Kingston & Allison Danger) (0)
vs.
The North Star Express (Darin Corbin & Ryan Cruz) (0)
The North Star Express are not what you'd call "successful" in WCWA. Sporting records of 1-3-1 & 2-7-1 (Corbin) and 0-5-0 & 1-6-1 (Cruz) respectively, they may have the worst overall records of anyone who still has a roster spot. Surely, their six losses and only one win as a tag team would be enough for them to realize, they aren't a very good tag team. If not, the elimination in the gauntlet in the very first spot should've been. Regardless, they're looking for redemption on Synthetic.. ....And they've signed up for Eddie Kingston, who is pissed off after getting screwed out of the World Heavyweight championship at Delusions of Grandeur, and Allison Danger, who suffered a similar fate for the American Joshi championship. ....Hopefully Joey Eastman Worldwide provides health insurance.
WCWA International Title Match
Jack Evans
vs.
Tommy End (c)
Tommy End had one of the most destructive nights of anyone at Delusions of Grandeur. In the unification match between the International and Television championships, Tommy End not only beat Beef Wellington, he destroyed him. With a series of the most vicious knees ever seen in WCWA, Tommy End knocked out and blooded Beef Wellington, three different lacerations requiring a total of seventeen stitches to close, in addition to a chipped tooth. The viciousness of Tommy End was unheard of, because the brutal knees weren't enough.. he also applied a choke hold afterwards. Jack Evans, however, seen his championship aspirations go up in smoke when his tag team partner, The Necro Butcher, essentially bailed on their one shot against the Kings of Wrestling, in order to benefit himself and join JEW. Jack Evans petitioned for a singles title shot as a result of these events that he had no control over, and was granted the shot. Will "The Prince of Parkland" by able to overcome the new found mean streak of Tommy End, or will he be left ground beef, just like Wellington at the Pay Per View? Find out on Synthetic!
MAIN EVENT
WCWA World Heavyweight title match
Claudio Castagnoli (c)
vs.
Joey Ryan
Joey Ryan was the solo winner of the Lethal Lottery tag team tournament. He and SeXXXy Eddy won three tag team matches in one night, earning the two of them a shot at the World Tag Team titles at a future date. In a singles match between the two, it was Joey Ryan who came up on top, earning himself this shot at the World Heavyweight championship. He looks to do what no other man (or woman) has been able to do. To defeat Claudio Castagnoli.
Castagnoli has built himself the most impressive record in WCWA history. Twenty four wins, zero losses. Fourteen of those were singles matches. He's defeated every opponent put in front of him, quite soundly, and has had very little resistance shown towards him. To beat Castagnoli, for anyone, would be considered a mammoth upset, because no one has been able to do it previously. Castagnoli laid waste to Eddie Kingston at Delusions of Grandeur in controversial circumstances, using Chris Hero's possibly loaded elbow pad to gain a significant advantage in the closing minutes of the contest. Castagnoli is no one to be played with and if Joey Ryan thinks he's going to just walk in and take "the big one" as a reward for winning Lethal Lottery solo, he's got another thing coming. This will be the fight of Joey Ryan's life.
