Mattel and the WWE seem to be both happy with the success of there partnership and things seem to be going strong even with the difficult financial climate. Some lines have gone but others have stayed and seem to be getting stronger and stronger(elites). I've noticed around my area for the last couple of months that Elites are flying off the shelfs and the same is reported around various other areas by yourself. They also seem to be very successful online.... RSC, WW etc... Don't you think it might be time to introduce Elite 2-packs to the market? Even if they only released (a minimum) 2 sets of 3 a year if makes sense that they will do well sales and profits wise. If would be a great way to get Tag Teams out, Mattel could spread the repaints out better and it also helps keep the FB/Legends fans happy if they were to give a spot to them. Here's the idea: 1st set Prime time Players - Already got most parts for them and the interest is strong. Not talking 2 spots in the Elite singles line which could be more of a gamble. APA or LOD or Rivals pack (BHart vs HBK) - Flashbacks fans get more and it keeps interest strong. Modern rivals/team ups - Mattel if worried could always have a 2-pack they feel confident in selling here and reuse/repaints could save money. Examples Kane & DBry, Orton & Shamus , Rock & Cena, Ryback & Punk, Mysterio and Sin Cara. ^ just a example above but with Mattel using the same successful formula they do for the Elites line I see a new successful line emerging! For us collectors it would be win-win too..... Repaints can be spread out more, more Tag Teams, more FlashBacks, more Elites, single Elites line has more freedom. What do you guys think? * success of Elite line and profits guessed at.

I would love it, and most of us would. Which means they'll never do it.

Don't make repaints in the sets that didn't sell well the first time round, that's just idiotic

I think Mattel said the profit margin would be too thin because retailers don't want a two-pack that's $30-plus.

A CM Punk figure in store cost nearly $20...Same goes with Ryback. With both of those and their deco costs, you would have to sell the 2 pack for at least $40....Not gonna happen.

I don't see why they cant do it? They did it with the All-Stars two pack. I wouldn't even care if its an exclusive to a certain store.

they should make 2-packs of a current star and a legend.......oh wait, they tried that. Nobody bought them.
they should make 2-packs of Flashback Tag Teams..............oh wait, they tried that too.
they should make a 2-pack of a Flashback Tag Team as an online exclusive.............oh wait.......they couldn't give the Rockers away @ 15 bux.
I like Hart Foundation as much as the next guy, but do I really want to pay $100 for them from RSC or ebay??? Make'm a TRU exclusive......so ppl like me who live in the sticks can't find them? Put them at normal retail? My kmarts and walmarts don't even carry elites anymore. Just my Target.....and they're always about 7 months behind

They didn't sell well enough to keep making them. And production costs of figures have risen in the last two years, so they'd be a bit more expensive now too.

And Piper/Orton, Sheik/Volkoff? Gimmie a break

"Yeah sure as long as we can put John Cena, Randy Orton, The Miz, Rey Mysterio, Big Show, Sheamus or Triple H into every set. Gotta have those shelfwarmers! They're the only figures that ever sell, and our profits from stores prove it."

I didn't even read the post just the title of the thread. Elite 2 packs would almost be $50 with tax based on prices of individual elites. Unless they are some online exclusive it's never gonna happen.

The Rockers set is worth like £19 for two elites, it's crazy so I don't see them wasting money but if better choices are made, will people fork out the near £40-50 for the sets?

I would love the idea, but I can't say with any degree of honesty that I would buy them. 40 dollars for a 2 pack is too rich for my blood.

Sure, let's have Mattel run out of business with Elite 2-Packs at $40+, even 50+ depending on the location.

The price point is not what retail stores want. An Elite 2-pack would cost anywhere from $30-$36...that's not an ideal price point for retail stores. Mattel doesn't cut us any deals so you probably wouldn't see it for $25-$30. As much as I like the idea, financially it doesn't make sense and stores wouldn't want to be stuck with them at that price.
