Not exactly, but I'll tell you this - I believe I have all the figures currently at retail that I'm interested in - yet I still find myself going and looking. Not sure what I'm expecting to find...
I guess I'm hoping to find Elite Honky Tonk Man - but they haven't even really hit retail yet, have they?

I think we've all bought figures we don't really want for accessories/BAF parts/who they came with in a two-pack etc. But I'm trying to think of single figures I've bought that I didn't really want. Every Orton I've bought for the last year or two, I guess. I never buy basic Ortons unless they are in a two-pack or whatever, but I buy every elite Orton just because I buy every elite series. I bought a few basic red Cenas I didn't want just because there was an offer on and there were no figures I wanted... Bought them thinking I'd exchange them when they got new figures in. Never did though.
I bought a couple of Flexforce back in January 2010 because they were the only Mattel figures out here at the time, but I never opened them and exchanged them a couple of weeks later when Smyths started stocking the good stuff.

I bought a few during the $11 K-mart sale on Elites just out of sheer frustration of wanting to buy new figures and never having anything new on the pegs.

The Rite Aid next to my work keeps exactly one BASIC on the pegs, so sometimes I'll buy the one they have if I have the $ just to see if they'll get something I like in, and if they do, I'll exchange the previous figure for the new one if I like it, or take it to another Rite Aid and return it just to get it outta my way.

Lately I've been buying cases on RSC. E19-E22 so far. First, I want them first lol. Second, I'm an elite collector and I really don't like the hunting around my area. So, yeah, I get figures I don't want. Also, I'm a sucker for the older box style, when I do find them at retail I'll insta-buy. I started collecting late last year, so I'm pretty good with buying figures I want. That said, sometimes I get tired of looking at a few and end up selling for new ones. And, i've got a lot of "1 and done" figures..... E10 R-truth, E1 Rey Mysterio, E21 Orton, BAF Sheamus, etc.... I do buy figures for accessories too, but I've got to find them cheap or on sale. I won't buy a battle pack for a wooden pallet or kendo stick, lol.

I know this sounds stupid, but as a moc collector I always keep my receipts. If its been an impulse buy or even one I wanted, I know at some point I'll want to get rid of it if I'm having financial trouble or have no room for it so I can always take it back.

E8 Regal and E14 Booker. Was shocked to see Booker at walmart so i grabbed him and Regal had been warming for awhile so I got him to make space. Both are now two of my favorite figures in my collection.
