I wasn't that impressed. I'll reserve judgment until the games are focused on more at E3 though.

Pretty awful event.
I want to see what games it's going to offer first.

Think always online seems pretty certain, which instantly makes me unable to purchase one. PS4 was about games whereas XBOX One was about the 'Living Room'. I know that I'm more interested in games - the living room stuff is undeniably cool though.
Apparently half of the box is ventilation, both for silence and a lack of RROD.

Watched the whole thing. Impressed in theory, but I have a lot of major questions. It's clear that Microsoft and Sony are going for two totally different audiences, and Nintendo isn't even really a factor anymore.
My biggest questions...
-Is an Internet connection required at all times? (seems likely) -Are all major cable providers on board? If not, that's a massive feature dead in the water already. Does that even matter? Does it just plug into the console? (Apparently it does in fact have HDMI Passthrough) -How much are we talking for an annual subscription fee? -It's got physical media, but the games are going to be stored locally on the hard drive and accessed in the cloud? -If we're expected to store games locally, why only a 500gb hard drive? Isn't that incredibly small? -Is the Kinect integral? Will it be included with all models?
I know we can't possibly expect all these answers right now, but this stuff is going to be integral.

Always-online rumor is false. Geoff Keighley from Spike asked Don Mattrick about it right after the conference and he definitively said it was false. You only need a connection for XBL or multiplayer features, just like the 360.

The console does not have the always on requirement. However all games must be installed and people who buy used games have to pay a fee to play them. Wtf

Paled sadly in comparison to Sony's reveal earlier in the year. Wasn't excited for it and they didn't draw me into it at all, lousy.

I just want to play games. All that other crap isn't interesting. This is coming from an Xbox fan. They didn't say much at all about anything that matters. Sonya conference wasn't much better and the wii u is crap. This gen of consoles is very disappointing so far. I have never been less excited about new gaming systems.

The fact that a consumer who makes less money will be forced to buy a new game is the dealbreaker for me.

Consoles are really going downhill. The focus is no longer in games.

They are really stiffing used games though. Once you buy the game, you install it and it links to your XBL account. TO link it to another one, you have to pay a fee. So no more borrowing games or buying used games without paying a fee.

The restrictions on used games is a deal breaker for me. I'm a diehard Xbox fan, but I'll be switching over to PS4 if that stays the way it is.

Lack of always online is a major bonus imo (even if certain games will require it, but that's likely for PS4 too), but the idea that different accounts pay a fee to play a game is shocking. What if you have 3 kids, each with their own accounts, and buy them FIFA? Do you have to pay an extra £20 to allow all 3 to play?
Kinect needs to be plugged in at all times, but I doubt you need to use it. They said it would work in a room of any size so I doubt that its a problem really, other than upping the price. It needs to be there, but you don't need to use it it seems.
TV stuff will likely be moot in Europe with satellite and all the different European ports, which could be a major blow to wider European sales. Would be cool if they did get it to work, but hardly integral for me, even if it might be for their target audience.
IGN reckon none of the footage shown was actually games, rather all CG. That's disappointing, although tbf if they show a lot at E3 it will hardly matter.

I'll most likely get the system just for the first party games that I enjoy, but today did nothing for me.
I really couldn't care less about kinect. I just want good games to play.

They confirmed it.
