I'm still shocked by the Cavs taking Bennett. Not saying its a bad pick, cause you could really argue the top 7 or so as #1, just didn't see it coming at all.
I personally think Oladipo is the best player in the draft, Orlando has a decent nucleus with him Harkless, Harris, and Vucevic now.
Don't know what to think about that Nets/Celtics trade. Nets are obviously going all in, while Boston is hitting the reset button. Good on Brooklyn getting out of that horrid Gerald Wallace contract though. That was awful the second he signed it.

This trade is bad for both teams IMO

The Lakers don't have any leverage to make such a trade because the Rockets are very close to having enough cap space to sign Dwight outright, and a sign-and-trade is of no benefit to Dwight. And that Nets trade sounds really bad for the Celtics IMO. I say this because they don't have a history of letting guys with value just walk. They'll find a way to get something in return. Oh word, so why the hell would he agree to do a sign and trade at all? Like why's it even an option if there are no benefits to him.

Rajon Rondo probably isn't feeling very happy right now.

Well it's not like he'll be in Boston much longer anyway. That team is only a tier above the handful of Andrew Wiggins lottery tankers at this point.

Most unpredictable draft I can remember, still sour over passing on Burke though, then Dumars picks Siva too effectively flipping the bird to Michigan fans, passing on the Michigan guard then picking the Louisville one that beat us in the national title game. We have so many combo guards it's not even funny, I can get the KCP pick but we still have no true PG, guess that's why Cheeks is here, to help groom Knight. I was looking forward to being able to watch Trey every game like at Michigan though. Sheed may be coming back to mentor Drummond which is good for Andre, Wallace knows the game for sure.

Aside from the Wallace contract I am fine with the deal. 3 picks, an expiring contract, Marshon Brooks. Not bad for 2 guys with 2 years left in the league. Yes I wish they didnt go to the division and I wish Pierce and KG retired in Boston, but Ainge has balls of steel. He does not give a flying what I wanted and he shouldnt. I am glad Terry is gone too, while I turn my Terry shirt into pajamas. It sucks, I am still going to renew my season tickets tho. Now the question is do they go full rebuild? Or do they sign someone like Josh Smith or Jefferson and start that way? I want Josh Smith, I dont care how bad he is, it would be SO fun to watch him and Rondo together. 9 #1s in the next 5 years and next years draft is loaded.

Boston made out pretty good. Rebuilding is always ugly and heartbreaking, but getting a grip of 1st round picks is about the best one could hope for. Fun draft overall. In a weak draft like this it's hard to make bad decisions. I like what Portland did. They needed another scorer and shot creator in the backcourt and they got two of them. I think Portland is gonna be ultra aggressive in free agency and with trades this summer. Hopefully they don't it up.

Smith and Rondo would be the biggest train wreck in the NBA. You think it would be fun, but you would hate your life, especially if they give Smith a huge contract he wants. I think it is smart to go ahead and move on this year for them, because to be honest, the Celtics time with KG and Pierce had passed.

Now I know Smith would drive me nuts, and I have no illusions of titles with him BUT BUT BUT here are the reasons I would want it: 1. Rondo and Smith are BFF's, like legit bff's. Anyone would be better with Rondo, how fun would it be to watch them run the court? 2. I dont expect a title, truthfully I dont in a long time, so I want to enjoy this team. I didnt enjoy the Celtics a lot, even during this era. If they ru nand are fun to watch, I would be okay. 3. No max for Josh but picks and Humphries and something? Sign an trade? Ainge needs to decide which way to go. I dont want to base my hopes of draft picks, we never win the lottery, I wont happen.

I believe if the Celtics had beaten the Lakers in the 2010 NBA Finals, this trade would not have been made and Pierce and KG would ride off into the sunset wearing Celtic green with the rebuilding beginning once they retire.

I agree this is a weak class. Nerlens Noel wont be a star player in the NBA, this draft class just doesnt have what it takes to produce the next big thing. Sure some of these guys can be good starters or a guy who comes off the bench every once and a while, but theres no guy who can really take the NBA by storm. Nerlens Noel reminds me a bit of Kevin Durant, but thats not the best thing in the world. Like Kevin Durant he is overrated. Noel is a defensive player right now. His offensive game needs a lot of work. His game is the opposite of Durant's. Regardless, a weak draft class when Noel is the consensus #1 pick. He is a project offensively, and I don't think he will be dominant defensively by any means. He has to get bigger which he will but not overnight. No I wasnt speaking about similarities in play style, I was talking about how both of them are very overrated.

Just a serious bullcrap move by Danny Ainge. He trades away two legends for a couple of rag-tag bench players and some draft picks. If they wanted to get rid of them, they could have easily gotten a better deal. Hell now the Nets are going to be a serious contender in the East next year; think of the damage they did without KG and Pierce, now add two hall of famers to an already good team. I wouldnt be suprised to see the Celtics struggling for years, I think it'll be about 2020 by the time they make the playoffs.

Brooklyn is still at best a 4th best team in the East next year.
Celtics had a better PG last year, and still struggled with KG and Garnett.
I will love and miss KG and Pierce but they are old, and injuries can happen quicker for them.

I think they can make some noise if they are healthy in the playoffs. That is a solid group of guys if healthy. I have no idea how they will gel though. Pierce likes the ball, Johnson loves it, D. Williams wasn't that good last season, I just don't know. Also, is J. Kidd the right guy to lead such a vet team now? That seems strange to me, short window and a coach with zero exp. I respect Kidd, and I am sure the other guys will too, but he will have a lot to learn. Granted I know nothing about who his assistants are/will be.

I hope this leads to Andrew Wiggins next year
