Joker Sting was? From what I heard Mattel wasn't allowed to make a Joker Rey but how come Jakks could make a Sting?

I don't think it's a case of not being allowed to, rather they said that they didn't want to make it out of respect for the late Heath Ledger.

For WWE and Mattel, to make a doll based on Rey specifically dressing up as Ledger's Joker would mean clearance from Christopher Nolan. He didn't give it. I'm not sure if WWE ever wanted to do it either, because of Ledger's death. Jakks and TNA just didn't seek clearance. I guess Nolan/DC/Batman doesn't own copyright on facepaint.

Simply because Rey's costume actually looked like the Joker. Stings just look like he always does with some smeared red paint. Was it suppose to be "jokerish", yea but it wasnt an actual Joker costume.

Jakks has also made Flash, Spiderman and Silver Surfer Rey when technically they werent allowed to. Mattel has made rey flash, has a pending rey batman, has a kofi robin. |

Mattel has the DC license, so they can release a Kofi 6pack with his Superman, Batman, Robin, Riddler, Sinestro and Red Lantern attires if they wanted to. Jakks does not have any comic licenses. |

I never seen an explanation from MDT but it seems like they looked into it: Joker Rey is off limits or we would have done him already. Believe me we wanted to! I thought Joker Rey looked like trash anyways. I'm kind of disappointed the Batman Rey wasn't saved for Elite. |

Jakks made a flash Rey and Daredevil aswell, also one with webs on the mask similar to spider-man.
Joker Rey would have been sweet though too, and agreed Bat rey for elite

Jakks changed around Rey's costumes enough to where they didn't infringe on any copyrights. They didn't make them exactly as Rey wore them.
