I said when Jakks announced they were done that I may not start a new collection. But, when Mattel released their prototypes, I instantly was won over and have since acquired a lovely Mattel collection which I would take any day over all of my Jakks figures. That being said, if Mattel was done in 2015, I really do think that I wouldn't start anew. I may buy a few here and there if they were amazing figures, but to rebuild a whole roster and everything for my fed, I don't think I would. It would be sad, but thats probably the truth. I love you Mattel, please re-sign!

I have been happy with the mattel product they make good quality stuff there distribution sucks but oh well. If i had to start all over again for the THIRD TIME, i would want hasbro to get the rights. Hasbro is king of the 4in figures and at that scale the playsets would be out of this world!!. you would have whole arenas!!! backstage and even cars how about and eddie guerrero with a lowrider anyone? it can be done with the 4in scale.

I think 2015 is the end. I don't think that they will wait that long to renew I would say they renew before april 2014 just so they don't lapse especially since they plan sets so far ahead they would need notice as not to waste their own money making new scans or molds. If they don't resign I see them going out the same way as jakks alooooottttt of repaints and just plain crap so hopefully they renew.

I hope Mattel keep going with them. If not, I'd prefer to see Hasbro get it too, GI Joe scale WWE (with proper scaling, not like Build n Brawl Rey being the same size as Undertaker). Sorry if this is general knowledge or has already been covered but I just started collecting a little over 2 months ago. I know they got the license in 2009 and released figures in 2010, but when does it expire? They made the deal in 2008, I'm pretty sure. The first series of Mattel figures was based on summer/fall 2008. The only company I think could do as good of a job or better than Mattel would be NECA. They really make realistic looking figures and just pay a sick amount of detail on their figures. I think NECA could do a way better job on hair and beards for sure. But probably not at getting 24 new figures out every two months.

Basics are already $13 at TRU and most places sell Elites from $16.99 and up. Neca has relatively inexpensive products, and I'm sure it boils down to the production costs. They make fairly limited runs of figures and only release 1-3 figures quarterly for most toy lines. The problem with NECA wouldn't be cost, it would be the fact that they could never do the extensive roster without changing the formula. You wouldn't be getting wrestling figures that looked like Rocky figures if that were the case. Or you would and then they would be expensive. Is that what you meant?

I think NECA could do a way better job on hair and beards for sure. Neca would get expensive at 13-16.99 a figure... Double packs would be madly expensive. NECA figures are no more expensive than WWE Elites. For the last 2 years all NECA figures that depict a HUMAN BEING have articulation that is like a WWE Elite figure. Yes Mattel offers 2-packs for $19.99, but they are Basics. I wouldn't have any problem paying $34 for an Elite 2-pack, but Mattel thinks it's too high a price point for people who might not like both figures. So it's really not an issue of price, as NECA likely just wouldn't offer a cheaper figure like a Basic. I would rather Mattel scrap the Basics all together anyway and put all of their resources into more Elites. So if I'm paying $16.99 for WWE Elites now, and $12.99-$15.99 for NECA figures, that's actually a better price. Plus NECA's are painted better and have better accessories.
