Got what I needed from Battle Pack 22 after a little situation with Ryback/Mahal. I bought a Ryback/Mahal pack a few weeks ago and was quite surprised when I opened the pack to find Mahal's right leg completely broken. I contacted Mattel and they sent me a voucher covering the cost of the pack to use on future Mattel purchases. Pretty awesome to be honest. So finally I was able to get a fresh new pack! Ryfront- Definitley better & cooler than his first basic. The attire detail is awesome. I still don't really like his facial expression, but at least it looks like him. Again, the details are what make this figure pop. Solid job all around. Jobber Mahal- Mattel's first effort with Jinder was mediocre. The attire is cool, but the head was just off. This time? They killed it with the head & face, excellent likeness. The attire while outdated is nicely detailed, but not as crisp as the white from his first figure. Still, overall it's a good effort. Rey Mastrio- Business as usual for Rey, with his new look and giraffe neck/gorilla arm combo. Mattel just hasn't been able to get Rey's basics right. They were either too skinny or too disproportioned. The blue attire here is cool, but the face/head is just so goofy I can't find anything about it to like. I'm really hoping for Mattel to come up with a new Rey body/arm specific mold because he is so unique, it's a shame they didn't do it sooner with the 87 Rey's they have released Sin botcha- I love the color scheme here. The white & blue looks awesome on my shelf. Same basic formula, but Sin Cara's figures are really just cool. Nothing to complain about. Arm sling was such a random accessory, but whatever...I like it Mr. Money-in-the-Bank-2012- New scan is awesome, attire is awesome, briefcase is awesome. Solid job all around. Love having an updated Dolph. Thanks to my buddy The Coon for hooking me up with this so I didn't have to bother buying the pack and flipping the vickie. Accessories- Nice lot of stuff here, an arm sling, a TV camera & a blue MITB Briefcase. The case hasn't been seen since E10 Kane and was fetching upwards of $30 alone on ebay! I like the cases, but they really are too big, they look like they were made for a Andre the Giant. Considering there's nothing to put in them I'd rather see a smaller, more scaled case that doesn't open. TV camera is totally new and perfectly scaled (now if we only had a cameraman figure to put it with......) and the sling is made of soft rubber, easy to remove and replace. Same one that came with the RSC CM Punk. Solid choices here and nice additions to a collection That's all for my Battle Pack Series 22. I'll be on a drought until my shipment of Elite 22 & order of BP23 comes in. Can't wait for that stuff!

Nice. I saw those sets one time about a month ago at WalMart. But I haven't seen them since. Still need to get the Jinder figure for his pads.

Awesome reviews Chip! you guys think the mahal pads would look alright on a dm bret hart? not sure if the pink would pop to much. I dont think he ever had pink knee pads but im cool with a unique bret at work.

Yea Mahal's pads are pretty dark...they would look ok on the right figure but Bret's pink is too light.

I used the head for my B19 Jinder since i like the attire better and seriously hated that headscan. gonna use the boots/shins and arms for other fixups down the line. Thanks man! and sorry, PJ didn't mean to sound like i was gloating or anything. Just stoked because all i really wanted out of that 2 pack was the Jinder as well - strictly for parts.

On Friday I was pleased to find my case of Battle Packs Series 23 sitting on my doorstep. Once again, another solid BP set from Mattel. I feel like they really knock the Battle Packs out of the park with great character selection, cool attire choices and fun accessories. I also just recently purchased a new & much improved digital camera, I think once I get the perfect set up I'll really be able to get some great pictures, but for now its a significant improvement over what I had. Do these pictures look any better to you guys? Sin Cara vs. Cody RhodesThis set features the same Sin Cara from Single Series 28, a new/updated attire & headscan for Cody Rhodes & a rubber Sin Cara mask accessory. I always enjoy a figure pack based on a short but fun feud. This was one of them. Cody - We get a repeated headscan, but with a new feature....THE STACHE. Sadly it's just 2 black lines painted on his upper lip, however it does at least make the figure stand out. The black trunks are nicely done with the purple stripe really making it stand out. His kneepads are correct, and the boot details are correct. Overall it's a well done Cody given the fact they obviously didn't have the new mustache scan ready for this set Also the mask fits on Cody's head nicely. It's a simple rubber mask with a slit down the back so it's easy to put on and remove Sin Cara - Not much doing here as it's an exact re-release of his Series 28 figure. It's fine, but I have no use for it since I've got B28 Bat-Rey & Kofi KingstonI'm also a fan of the "random thrown together tag team for one night" packs. Especially when the attires are some of the best Mattel has ever done, and easily the best for the respective superstars. Rey - What a cool figure! Makes me happy Mattel also has the DC line so we can actually get stuff like this. The details are just awesome. His cape is rubber and sits to the side on his shoulders which is kind of cool on display. The only drawback here is that Rey's headscans are just bad. His facial expression on this figure is so goofy it's like a Batman parody act. Fortunately the amazing attire saves it. It really is just cool. Kofi - Black & yellow is a great color combination. Mattel nailed it with Kofi here. My favorite basic figure of him that's been released. Headscan is the same we've seen since at least E17. Details are spot on as usual with Kofi, they definitely know how to make Kofi's figures appealing CM Punk vs. Mr. McMahonA pleasant surprise in the line, I never expected to see another Vince figure, let alone a Basic! Plus 2 kendo sticks? I'm sold. Nice pack. Vinny Mac - Surprised we got this. Honestly. It's a fine figure, but his head is kind of small. Not sure how that happened. His attire is plain but exactly how it looked for the match. Plus they gave him the "jacked" arms, which Vince must have picked himself....even though they are kind of accurate. So aside from the small-head-syndrome, this is a pretty solid figure from a fun match CM Punk - Mattel really loves those Chicago colors...but of course this was the attire he wore in the match and it hasn't been made in basic form, so I'll give them the pass. I just want more colorful Punk's because he's worn some GREAT attires. They need to be immortalized in figure form. I'll never complain about too many Punks and yes I am totally biased. This figure is great. Headscan is excellent and the attire is nice. If the facial hair wasn't painted so dark it would be perfect. I think Mattel did a solid job....nothing amazing and incredible (although Rey's attire is close) but nothing bad. So that's a win and money well spent.

Time for an UPDATE!! After much waiting and anticipation I finally got my set of Elite 22 earlier this week.... The Rock- Excellent job here. The larger torso and new headscan officially make this the best Rocky Mattel has made. A little tired of seeing the gold logos, but I guess it's what he's worn most, so whatever. The real selling point of this thing is the new WWE title. Amazed that Mattel got it done so fast and it looks great. The belt has one flaw. It's too small...not overall, it's too short. I tried to put it on my E17 Cena (which doesn't have that big of a waist) and had to stretch it out. Hopefully on future releases they lengthen the strap even by like 2cm it will be enough. Big Show- Not Giant...Big Show. It's like E16 Kevin Nash, without the Flashback. Best elite Big Show so far. Details are excellent, new scan is perfect. The beanie hat is a nice touch and he comes with a shiny WHC. I still don't understand why Mattel hasn't given Big Show a closed fist hand. Also the camo detail on his boots was a welcome addition and is well done. If you're looking for a "definitive" Big Show...this is the one Kane- Mattel told us "Kane sells"...the only reason why he was in 2 Elite sets very close together. OK then. This Kane is an upgrade over E19 in pretty much every way. Shiny boots, much better scan, 2 elbow pads. Nothing to really complain about. Strange that they gave him the welders mask since he hasn't worn in a LONG time. Seems like a wasted accessory spot to me. But whatever. I have an issue with the tag belt though, yes...it's shiny, which I'll always prefer. But it is waaayyy too dark. It's literally the color of a penny. It just looks...odd (new on the right) Giant- We saw the "prototype" for this a long time ago. I've always been a fan of Big Show, never my favorite but I respect the hell out of him for lasting this long in the business. The Giant was a huge (no pun) part of WCW/nWo and deserved to get a proper figure made. Mattel nailed it here with a great looking "classic" headscan, and the iconic nWo sleeveless shirt. They got his body & look accurate with the short boots and singlet strap over his left shoulder. Well done all around. Tensai- Mattel said that it nearly killed their budget getting his entrance gear done. And as of now, its been over a year since he's worn it. Aaahh the joy of the wrestling business. Best thing about this figure? the new hand mold....seriously, it's awesome. His headscan is different from B28 and very well done. The entrance gear is perfectly detailed. The whole figure is, actually. Kinda bummed he has "biker shorts" and not trunks, but I see how it could be difficult to replicate his exact attire on a movable action figure. My issue with the attire is the helmet. When the robe is on, the helmet sits too high on his head so the opening actually falls on his forehead and not over his eyes. It's hard to get it to display correct. I wish they could have maybe done something like eliminate Kane's mask and give Tensai a fabric style helmet. Either way the whole figure put together is HUGE, and a good way to debut him into the Elite line. Damien Sandow- The last figure in this set is the new Mr. Money in the Bank himself. All I have to say is....well done. Mattel nailed it here. Best figure in the set, one of the best Elite's they've done. In terms of accuracy and detail. There quite simply is not a single thing wrong with this release. From the new headscan, to the cloth robe and a slightly different attire than his basic. Everything about this one is a 10/10. That's it....now the wait begins for Elite 23!!!
