You're welcome. Exactly. The Russo fed is another example of it. Thank you. You're welcome. I agree; the Russo fed is wonderfully creative, well done on how you've made it work... Again, all the best to you. Thank you very much. I've had the chance to reply to two of your shows. I'll reply to more later.

Thank you very much. I've had the chance to reply to two of your shows. I'll reply to more later. You're welcome, and again, my thanks are to you, appreciate the replies...I will admit it is incredibly refreshing to read the lines of text you gave as replies...I found myself with both shows open, so I could see what you referred to...very interesting... Thanks again slappy. I like to give detailed replies rather than just "good show" replies because effort went into the show so effort should go into the reply. You're welcome.

...As I'm now over 10 pages on the SUMMIT PRO thread I am thinking its time to separate the thread into parts... ...maybe a separate thread for superfluous information about it, the histories, etc. ...I'm still thinking on it... Wouldn't hurt especially since it's not like we're bursting with new threads.

...I've had another thought, of registering moves...I've created quite a few, would be nice to have them in one place... Like the previous post I will think on it some more. This is totally up to you but I'm not sure how many would use it.

Wanted to post a little bit about my new SLAM! Wrestling endeavor, figured I'd do it here since I want to keep my news thread "kayfabe." It's a little bit of a fantasy play but won't be entirely crazy. I see it somewhere between a Lucha Underground and just a regular indie fed. I'll probably just do monthly shows/one every three weeks for the foreseeable future. The idea is essentially that the person is straight out of the era that their figure represents. So, C.M. Punk uses the RSC Punk so it's from the time he was ECW Champion and not current, jaded UFC fighter Punk. Same goes for someone like Dean Malenko -- his figure is based off 1996, so I want to think of him as being that guy still, not an old man. For that reason, I'm not going to be afraid to use an Eddie Guerrero or other deceased wrestler. So, it's a bit of a fantasy world but still grounded in reality. I'm not going to go all LU and have someone turn into a dragon (... not yet anyways). I also want to add more personality to the show by doing some humor in backstage segments and whatnot. It's also going to probably be a hybrid picture/text fed. I'll have one pic per match and also feature backstage segments where it's warranted (probably not like for an interview or anything. As far as the format goes, I went back and was reading my old SLAM! shows (via my own archive I had written up -- forum.wrestlingfigs.com/thread/109390/essential-smurf-incomplete-archive) and I'll probably do something similar to that. Match recaps rather than move-by-move breakdowns.

I was thinking of going in a more storyline/promo driven direction. More TV show with wrestling than a wrestling show. And I'd have seasons instead of just continuously going.
I want to try something different and I think this may be it.
I'd start over so AWW wouldn't be involved. That will be kept separate in case this falls apart and I can always go back to it.

I plan on checking out some shows in the next few days, hopefully people have some stuff in the pipe. Between all the wrestling I've watched the last few days and how busy work has been, I hardly have had time to think about my fed let alone check out other people's. I haven't started writing the show out yet, but I do have the card completed and a basic outline for show two which will be Halloween themed for October. The first show might be a little straightforward and to-the-point but I think the second one will show a little more personality. I kind of want to have a "six-month plan" so to speak before I write anything out. That way I'll have a reason to stick to it.

Having a hard time coming up with a fed name. Can't think of anything that fits with what I'm planning on doing.
I'm getting main ideas together and I just started writing the very first part of the show.

Hey guys, This is likely the first time I've posted in here (this board/sub-board), and I'm sure it won't be the last. I've been talking with @3nwpro about wanting to share text results from my old Jakks/WWE figure fed that I used to run in the mid-2000s. Basically, it's everything from when I started collecting Jakks again on Halloween Day 2004 to shortly before I left for college in August 2006. I've still got my 5x8 memo book with results to all 100+ shows I played out. I'm about halfway through copying the contents over to a Microsoft Word document, and I told him that I felt now was the best time to bring it up and possibly share it with everyone here. If it's all right with you guys, I would like to create a thread on the Text board for my old WWE fed results. I understand that I cannot register any part of my fed since it's all been used before lol, but I will gladly give credit to others if need be for using any WWE-branded concepts. Also, I hope it's not a problem if I link to an occasional image of an entrance set-up or post-match scene that I took with my digital camera nearly a decade ago. Thanks for your time, and I appreciate any feedback you have to offer.

I'm all for it Chicago; I know how much the BCAs mean to you and it would be nice to see your approach. All the best with it. Unfortunately, this was before I started collecting BCA figures again! Shocking, I know lol. That was in the summer of 2007, and my Jakks WWE fed mostly consisted of TTL/RA/TNA figures until its abrupt end in the summer of 2006. I went about three years, from 2001 to 2004, without collecting wrestling figures of any kind until I picked up my first Jakks RA figures on October 31, 2004. My WWE fed began with the leftovers from my original collection up until 2001, and I slowly but surely added new figures as they were released. It is the most comprehensive fed I've ever done and that's why I look forward to posting about it here. The closest thing I have to a record of my old BCA figure fed (from the late 1990s) can be found in this post from last year: Do you know where you were on June 4th, 1999? I do. I was updating title belt histories for my BCA figure fed on Microsoft Works for the very last time. The only reason I know this is because I recovered a bunch of old files off of 3-1/2-inch floppy disks not too long ago, and some of the files date back fifteen years. I've since captured images of all the files and uploaded them to a Photobucket album. Check 'em out: Here's a look at the original files that I salvagedPart 1 of my fed's rosterPart 2 of my fed's rosterPart 3 of my fed's rosterAll of my fed's factions and/or stablesNews and rumors about my fed. Oh lord. The locations of my fed's then-upcoming PPV eventsMy Over the Edge 1999 cardMy King of the Ring 1999 cardTitle histories of all 10 (yes, 10!) championships in my fed, including: Heavyweight, Intercontinental, Tag Team, European, Hardcore, Attitude, Cruiserweight, Silver, Ultimate, and Lightning.

I have all segments except one written and all entrances for the matches written. I just need to write the matches and the one segment and I'll be done with the show.

I know it's been said but the burst of activity around here is nice. I'll probably check out some shows tomorrow night as well as Saturday while I'm waiting for stuff at work. I also gotta get started on my own first show. I have it "scripted" through the "intermission" but really have to get around to doing the writing.

I tried writing up my matches, but they went from quick summaries to a whole play-by-play of the match. Is there a specific way I should write my matches? And if there isn't, would you mind reading multiple paragraphs for a match?

I'd say you'll get more views/replies if you keep it pretty concise.. but I'll check it out regardless.

I write for me; if anyone else digs it then of course it's really great to hear but at its core I'm fleshing out more than just a wrestling program with matches; I'm fleshing out a reality. That being said I don't want to come off as brash or arrogant but if I check out others' Feds and see poor grammar, punctuation and unoriginality I can't get invested. I'm the same. I can deal with a little bit of leeway, but if it's text speak, run-on sentences and crap, then no. I do sports writing for a living so I don't have much patience for it.

I've seen sentence recaps, and descriptive highlights and information about a match and the wrestlers in the match, but I've never seen long essay-esque Text Feds. I guess if I wanted to be original with it, perhaps, but as I stated before I want people to tell me how I'm doing. I thought of having a TL;DR sort of thing on the post, even though many just might look at that and then respond.

Just have the matches to finish. I had no idea what I wanted to do for the other segment but I finally figured it out and got it written.
Match writing is the bane of my existence.

Do you recommend longer, more detailed matches, or short summaries of the contests? Anything as long as it's longer than X defeated Y by pinfall. It really just depends on your comfort level of writing and how well you think you can put together matches. If you think you can put together matches really well then longer, more detailed might be for you because it could draw the reader into a more vivid experience. But you have to have the skill. You don't want to write long matches and have the reader think "When is this going to be over?"
