Why in the world would you think it's real? You realize that a) this makes no sense at all and b) a google search would reveal the complete origins of the slender man including the person who created it and why the whole thing is fake? I swear it drives me nuts when people don't even bother to just google something to see if it's real or not. |

Slenderman was created several years ago by a member of the Something Awful forums. I believe it was part of a photoshopping contest. It's entirely fictional.
Marble Hornets is a "found footage" style web series created by a group of individuals, based (somewhat loosely) on the original content on the Something Awful forums that went viral.
He's entirely fictional, but of course, after watching the videos, plenty of people claim to have seen him. It's a natural reaction. Personally, I find the idea horrifying. One of the scariest fictional "creatures" I've ever come across.
The Slenderman isn't some urban legend with little or no origin. You can actually trace the character's history all the way back to his creation, because it all happened on the internet.
