I know some are 4,3 or even 1 per case, etc. But how many actual figures does Mattel produce lets say for Jericho E20? And in comparison how many does RSC make for Cactus (Im only using them as examples). I am not sure if anyone actually knows but I am curious. I would guess maybe in the 20,000 range for elites, 40 for basic and around 2k for RSC.

From what I can determine, Mattel said somewhere they have to make at least 5,000 of 1 figure to turn a profit on them. To me that means less then 5,000 for RSC. I don't do basics so I imagine a high production elite like E21 Ryback they probably made 30,000 of them, but HTM however probably only 10-15,000.
You have to look at the elite sets like this and using E21 as an example...
2-3 figures cost way more to make so they make less of them and more of the cheaper ones. If they want to make full profit off a case there has to be less expensive ones made and more of the cheaper ones made (orton and del rio)
HTM: costs more because of his jumpsuit and guitar (guitar cant be resold with anyone else immediately so its a one off mold for now)
AJ: Costs more because of the complicated line work (Money had to be put into the machine) and the Green color (Red and black are the cheapest colors to produce, more florescent type colors can get pricey in comparison.)
Ryback: seems pretty cheap to produce
Rey: Seems cheap to produce, only money spent is on paint app
Del Rio: Cheap to produce
Orton: Very cheap figure, now made even more cheap with the choice to use all black for his tattoos and no longer use the 2 tone black in previous figures.
If you look at the figures in a set this way, you can see now there's a ratio where some figures are left bare compared to another that is in the same set. So in conclusion, if a figure is 2-3 to a case, I'd estimate them making about 30,000, and if its .5 per case I'd say maybe 5,000-10,000 made. RSC exclusives you have to remember cost +$10 more than a regular elite, knowing that and the At least 5,000 made to make a profit statement, should tell us that maybe 2,000-5,000 are made of these. Anymore than that and I'm starting to wonder how big RSC's warehouse is, lol.

Yeah I was also going to add but forgot, Jakks made way more than this back in the day. Probably closer to 50,000 of each figure or more of a few, COnsidering how many times some of the CS figures were re released as part of a best of set or when they re released whole sets from the early ones. This made these a hell of a lot cheaper and a hell of a lot easier to obtain. And what of the figures that get soaked up for customs? If they made 30,000 Terry Funk's, how many even exist now? How many of those are flairs? You see what I mean? All those bushwackers that are now shield members? All the ref shawns and DM austins that are Hardy boyz? Texas tornados that are hogans? Hill billy jim that are goldbergs and halls, you get the idea. Anyways, you can honestly say that every week some of your figures get rarer and rarer. Oh yeah, all your punk fix ups... |

Hard to find the black one and red one nowadays and those probably didn't have too many customs made out of them either... |

They made a lot of 1/25, 1/100, 1/500 figures. These were rare figures. Mattel has said that ALL their figures are produced at least 5000 units (maybe 3000 I cant remember) because if they dont then there wont be a profit. Kevin Nash doesnt cost more then John Cena, its the same 15-16-17 whatever dollar figure anywhere you go...EXCEPT for online retailers and Ebay. At that point it becomes a distribution thing and not a "rarity" thing. Ive seen 3 Kevin Nash figures in stores...yet Ive never seen a Yokozuna. A lot of people have Yoko's still hanging on the pegs while they've never seen Nash. Mattel's problem has always been distribution and because the distribution is bad, the figures become "wanted" by those that cant find them. Once the figure becomes wanted the aftermarket value goes sky high. |

Say there's 20,000 Cenas made,and 30,000 Tyson Kidds. Cena is the rarer of the two but Kidd is the more wanted of the two.Just because it's wanted more doesn't mean it's rarer.Same with E21 Ryback,3 per case but is the hardest to find.

They said the minimum was 5000, the only rare figures are Warrior's basement figures.
