It's confirmed. My friend's mother actually knows Matt. I called her and told her the news, her mother called Matt's mother in law. it's true.
So sad.
Edit: his mother in law suspects he overdosed.

The character of Doink will always be one of the biggest parts of my wrestling childhood. Since then loved listening to his interviews on wrestling sites.. Great insight into business and life. Sad day. RIP Matt Borne.

Just read this, sucks to hear. Borne was an entertaining guy. Brought that real creepiness to the evil clown character that was Doink. Also loved his brief time in ECW, where he went from Doink, to being Borne Again.

What a shame. I'll always remember the first time I saw him wrestle, after his silly antics antagonizing Crush... his style was kind of "old-school" - I thought, Wow! This guy can actually wrestle! That really took me by surprise... There are some GREAT matches of his on one of the RAW compilations (Best of Seasons 1 & 2) - he had awesome matches against Mr. Perfect, Macho Man Randy Savage, and I think Owen Hart.... check those out if you get a chance - he was a real master in the ring... took "ring psychology" to a whole new level. Whenever someone else played Doink, I could always tell - they just weren't as smooth in the ring as Matt Borne. Doink was one of my first "meets" when I was in high school... here's the pic... I was very proud of this picture, still am! Such a shame, 56 is too young for this. Now I'm going to go watch some classic Doink matches on that Raw DVD....

R.I.P Doink. One of the more recognizable men who ever wrestled when you think about it.

Can't believe it....I literally just saw him last week at New England Fanfest. Was lucky enough to meet the guy back in 2007 as well, he was super cool. Such a shame.
