In my mind, these two are the only two worthy for the title of greatest ever giant. I exclude people like Undertaker and Kane because, whilst being 'big men', their gimmicks were never focused around their truly breathtaking size like these two. So I ask: who is the greater giant?

Big Show no contest. Andre didnt really have anything more to offer than Khali imo. Big Show wishes he had Andre's aura. Show may be technically better in many aspects, but Andre was always booked/promoted/protected better than Big Show has in his career. As far as name value or historical significance goes, I don't think there's any contest.

I think that's because of the times though; if Andre had been around now he wouldn't have had 1/10th of the unbeaten run that he did have. Andre just got lucky in the sense that he was there first when things took so much longer to develop.

He is stronger, more athletic, charismatic, better ring and mic skills. Andre is a bigger star, but if were talking who is the more talented wrestler, its a no brainer. Big Show.

I respect the hell out of Andre but to me it's no contest. Big Show by more than a mile. He's very, very athletic for his size.

Obviously for me it's big show, not only does he have the presence of a giant in the ring he has a moveset the Andre cold only have dreamed of.

Andre is of course the bigger draw, the bigger star, and much more special. Big Show will never have a moment like WrestleMania III, or be the face of wrestling for years. But I enjoy Big Show's work more.

Big Show. Big Show is pretty damn dynamic. He's about as well rounded as a guy his size can get imo. Andre's body of work hasn't aged well imo. If you weren't there to experience what he brought to the table in the time he did it, I don't think it resonates with you. It doesn't with me anyway.

Andre the Giant transcended wrestling, something that probably less than 10 have ever done. There isn't a person alive who isn't aware of Andre. In his younger days he was probably the biggest draw in the world, and his matches with Hogan were quite simply, some of the biggest ever.
Show has been consistently a mid carder for the majority of his career. He's never been the #1 or even the #2 draw in any company that he's been in at any time. I don't think he's even ever main evented a Wrestlemania, has he? (And by main event, I mean go on last).
It may be just because of the times they came in, but Andre is and always will be the Giant of wrestling.

Its easily Andre The Giant. What most people dont realize is that Andre was by far one of the most athletic big men to ever grace a ring. However, because of his disease (the same in which Big Show suffers from) Andre regressed a lot sooner and most fans (especially on this board) only saw stuff from his late WWF days when his career was already winding down. Now with the miracle of modern medicine, Big Show is able to continue to stay healthy while Andre deteriorated. Its common, especially with todays generations, to say "well I didnt see it so it wasnt that good" and that's just entirely untrue. While you cant discredit anything Big Show as done, saying what he's done is just miles ahead of Andre is asinine.

Good point, I forgot about that. It's still not anywhere near on the levels of Andre/Hogan at WM3 though. Especially as WM16 is (I'm pretty sure widely) considered one of the worst Wrestlemania's ever.

While Big Show has better in-ring skills and promo skills, Andre was pushed as an unstoppable monster where as Show was jobbed to Austin in his first WWF match. People believed that Andre could literally kill any opponent while Show's comedy gimmicks have hurt his credibility IMO. That and the fact that a ton of guys have wins over Show so that hurts his credibility as well.
A little off topic but anyone else find Show's WMD finisher funny considering he was punching people for years and never KO'd opponents with it. He needs to go back to the choke slam.

Show is more athletic, but also 4 inches shorter than Andre.

Andre The Giant for me!!
The guy was well known back in the day, even non wrestling fans knew of him.
Big Show doesn't have that going for him.
And Andre WAS athletic. Watch cage matches he had with "Big" John Studd or Kamala. Andre wins by climbing to the top rope and delivering an 'Earthquake' style sit down splash onto them for the win.
