Crappy, lazy attempt on Mattel's part. They also picked a crapty attire from one of the worst Wrestlemanias ever. And just to think, we could've instead had a "My TIme" version of Trips. Mattel's cheap ass re-use would've actually been accurate for that one, but, no, instead we get this steaming pile of hot crap. Horrible headscan, horrible body choice, incredibly lazy job on the attire, and accessories that don't even match the 'Mania he is supposedly based on. Where's his robe? Where's the chair he used to smack the crap out of Kane? Also, I don't get Mattel. The NAO they're making are based on DX 2000 (Road Dogg's attire and Billy Gunn's hair). Mattel has also made a 2000-era Rock, Foley (Cactus Jack), Jericho, and the upcoming RIkishi. Yet we get this piece of crap who, timeline wise can't fit in with any figure besides SDCC Taker and Elite 12 Kane. This was seriously the biggest disappointment out of SDCC for me. But everything else MDT showed more than makes up for it. Triple H with the long tights is his iconic Attitude Era look. Even though I loved his 'My Time' era, this is still his most recognizable look for the time period. He didn't wear a robe any more at this time. This was way after the Blue Blood gimmick. And at this WM his entrance attire was just a black sleeveless shirt with the original fancy "H" logo on it in red. And this attire does go with Road Dogg and Billy Gunn because this was the period when he was with them in DX's second run before he turned on XPac and joined the Corporation. While I totally get your gripe about the accessories, a chair sounds better than a megaphone, do we need more chairs? And I prefer the DX shirt over the shirt he wore at that Mania. And I loved WM 15. So the attire isn't perfect, who cares. It's one a lot of people wanted for time and this is just Mattel's first shot it. I'm sure in the future there will be more Flashback HHH's.

I actually like it. Now we have Attitude Era DX! E19 HBK and E23 HHH. The tights don't really bother me , at least they didn't add trunks. I don't mind with Triple H as I would buy any version anyway. But I wanted the WM 16 silver hHh logo trunks or the WM17 gold hHh trunks the most. . They did lose my sale on Macho Man though. I have 2 long rights versions already and honestly I stopped liking Macho when he switched to the long tights and cowboy hat attires. So to me that's already 2 to many. If he was in WM (or any other trunks) I would have purchased at least 2. I think it comes down to this. The outfit from DM (his WM 7 Career Match) were heel tights, as were his RSC Exclusive NWO tights. WM 8 is him in his long tights as a face. Just like the heritage attires as well as his RSC "Macho King" Survivor Series '89 attires were from Heel runs. As his Legends 5 attire was his WM 4, WWF Title run Face trunks.

Even though it has its flaws, I still plan on getting a few to fix up. I already planned on painting the tights to match WrestleMania XV anyways. Plus I might try my hand at making the attires from Royal Rumble 1999 (neon green with black 'HHH' on crotch) and St. Valentine's Day Massacre (red with black 'HHH' on crotch).

im going to try and make a DX HHH that is pre WM 14. The crotch for John Morrison is black with a belt and hopefully I could make that work.

I wonder when they make a blue blood Elite if they'll still give him the same body as today's HHH figures. That should be good for a laugh.

I'll get this fig because I'm a HHH fan (especially from that era) but I'm not a huge fan of the it...
1) The attire is lame. Another boring black and silver attire from Mattel. Plus the paint job looks nothing like the actual attire he wore. They should have done either his purple attire from SummerSlam '98, his red attire from Survivor Series '98, or the green and black attire he wore w/ DX.
2) The head sculpt is a disappointment. Looks like they took an existing head sculpt and simply tried to change the hair to save money. The whole thing looks off.
3) The upper body is way too buff. Its perfect for a mid-1999 look when he buffed up for his main event push, but not for a WM15 HHH. They should have given him a smaller body sculpt.

The torso choice and the dots take away from the figure, but I'll still get it. Triple H just wasn't that physically big at that point since he really didn't start roiding until a few years later.
