A scenario similar to the recent Austin Aries/Suicide angle on Impact last month where he stole the Suicide costume. A masked wrestler (like Suicide) wins the match, but afterwards it's discovered that the original wasn't in the costume. Then the guy who won the briefcase isn't found for a while, then cashes in on the champ at a major PPV.

I always thought it would be hilarious if someone lost the case and they had segments where the guy is looking all over for it

It would actually be a mystery as to who had the case and when they finally cashed in, it would be a total shocker. Great idea.

I think whoever has MITB should have to defend it several times. I'm kind of sick of the guys winning MITB and then basically just sitting on the briefcase for months and months and months, just teasing a cash in here or there, but we've really only seen a guy defend his MITB on a few rare occasions.
MITB should be like a Title. Yes, it has a special privilege that means you can cash in whenever you want, but you should have to defend it to keep it, I believe.

I would LOVE to see a face cash in on a face, who gets intentionally DQed to retain and turns heel. I always thought it would be hilarious if someone lost the case and they had segments where the guy is looking all over for it I feel like you should turn in to Smackdown this week then.

This is the best idea I've read so far. In hindsight, MITB is no different from championships. I could see the MITB holder also winning the Royal Rumble, but the two title shots can't be for the same championship, especially when the holder can easily cash in before WrestleMania. It's just plain stupid and unfair.

I wanna see someone win the case but then later on earn a title shot the regular way. Then the wrestler loses the title match and uses MITB afterwords to get an immediate rematch where they win.

It'd be a bit stupid but have someone have a decoy case that doesn't actually have a contract inside, they 'cash in' and lose but then they bring out the actual case and win.

I would like to see someone who completely fails to cash in, steal the briefcase back from the time keeper or whatever official it gets handed to and try to cash in again at a later date.
I think the only time the MITB briefcase should be defended by the holder is if they are injured and won't be able to cash in within the time frame (Kennedy), or to reverse a guys momentum (Ziggler). Treating the MITB as just another title really adds to take away from the US and IC championships.
Another thing I would like is label the cases RAW & Smackdown, and then only allow the holder to cash in on either show, for ANY championship in action that night. That way you could have the holder of the Raw briefcase cash in for ANY championship. For example, he finds a partner and goes out after the Tag Team Championships, or someone fresh from NXT wins the Money in the Bank and cashes in on either the US or IC championship.

Have someone cash in right before a title match to make it a triple threat match, or cash in during the middle of the match while both men are down.

Sin Cara botches and cashes it in on the Divas Champion.

If they ever wanted to unify the world titles whilst putting someone over big time, they could have them win the WHC case, and then the RR a few months later. They then beat the WHC in the opening match of WM, and win the WWE title in the main event (or, if they wanted to advertise the unification beforehand, cash in to get into the WHC EC the month before and win that).

I, like most wrestling fans, always think of story line ideas in my head when I'm bored. And I thought (this was before this year's MitB), they should have Daniel Bryan win the MitB briefcase and then go on to win the rumble, and then the next night on Raw have Vickie come out and say that Daniel can't hold both, so the MitB briefcase gets put on the line in the Elimination Chamber. Who ever wins the chamber match gets the case.
It's not perfect, and it's obviously made to make Daniel Bryan look good, but since WWE has had chamber matches recently that weren't for a title... I thought, "why not?"

I also thought last year when Ziggler was the MitB holder, having him cash in after a show, when Big Show (who was champion at the time).
When Big Show goes into his RV, and "falls asleep" have Ziggler sneek in with only a ref and a camera man, and just lightly lay over Big Show and have the ref count (in a whisper) 1, 2 , 3. And have it be a "WWE.com Exclusive"

Used on the Main Event of Mania, or just at Mania in general. I love the idea of swapping or stealing cases. A MITB winner actually getting over longterm from the gimmick haha.

A cash-in in the middle of a match. I'd say this. You know what would actually put some life into the match, as well as into a certain division? Two MITB matches next year. One for a World Tile (either WWE or WHC) and one for the Tag Titles. Seriously, it's been since what.....Extreme Rules 07 or something since the last Tag Team Ladder Match? For something that "revolutionized" the Ladder Match, I'm very surprised WWE hasn't tried going back to it. That's what was kind of cool about the whole NXT thing as well. Win the show, get a title shot of your choosing. Put the spotlight on lesser titles.

A Divas Money in The Bank.
Now that I think about it, the Divas division is strong enough to, not only put a completting ladder match on, but a compelling multi-person ladder match.

Have the MITB winner lose a match to the champion. Then after the match attack the champ enough that they cash in right there.
Have the MITB winner cash in during the beginning of a PPV where the champion is booked in another match for later in the night. Then being the new champion they are booked to defend the title that night. MITB winner then gets intentionally DQ'ed at end of the night to retain the title.
MITB winner hires a Big Show, Ryback, or Big E. sized guy to put down the champion long enough for them to cash in.
A friend unexpectedly cashes in against his best friend who just happens to be champion.
Have MITB winner in a tag match with the champion. The MITB winner refuses to tag in. Then after the match they cash in.
Have an angle where the MITB winner is seriously hurt earlier in the night. Ambulance races them to the hospital only to find out it was staged. MITB winner jumps out of the crowd on unsuspecting champion.

have a champion vs champion match on raw, and then both MITB holders cash in mid match

I always thought I had a really cool idea. And as it is posted here on the 26 July 2013 at 16:49 GMT I feel protected in case it is ever used that I have proof it was my idea :-
MITB match is ongoing and all men are down, out comes a character like JTG (not a match participant)comes out and takes the briefcase
JTG puts the Contract up for auction on ebay
The contract is posted in full, a clause in the Contract says that if the holder of the briefcase is not a registered WWE superstar then they must complete a 9 month crash course in NXT (WCW has had celebs wrestle with very little experience 9 months should be sufficient) and the holder of the briefcase must comply with creative direction (i.e. they can't shoot)
All the earnings on the auction could be given to charity
I think with having 2 MITB matches a bullcrapfinish in one wouldn't be the end of the world plus it'd be interesting to see who won the auction, when they cashed in and it would create a lotof mainstream attention for WWE
