The men that paved the way for guys even like Hulk Hogan need to be immortalized in plastic too. WWE PIONEER CLASSIC ELITES (Has a nice ring to it) it would be a limited edition line of four figures of wrestlers who even before Hogan, Flair, Race, Steamboat, Rhodes, and Bruno laced their boots up. About 100 produced each for that particular wrestler . Also this line would not restart until all the figures have been sold (this would allow Mattel not to strain their budget on another line). These figures would be a Ringside exclusive. Also what would make this line special is for Jim Ross to write the snap shoot bio on the back on the packaging a plus for MOC collectors. If Mattel did this it would be 2015 and If I could pick the first four here is who I would choose. Gorgeous George Frank Gotch George Hackenschmidt Lou Thesz This line would be awesome!

If you want Mattel to bankrupt. I don't even think collectors would want these.

I'm 100% certain we would get a Gobbledy Gooker from Mattel before any of the guys you listed. And it would almost certainly sell better as well. No offense intended but you have to be a pretty damn hardcore fan and collector to want a Frank Gotch or George Hackenschmidt figure.

I'm sorry to say but no casual fan would buy those and you'd be hard-pressed to find a hardcore one either.

I'd still prefer a camo sarge, red LOD before those. HELL we have a better chance of getting cm hart than those!

I doubt these would sell I've heard of some of the names but not enough to buy and I'm in my mid 20's imagine a kid he would be like who the heck ^# is that ?! The old old characters would do bad in my opinion I mean look at legends series most figs 20years old if that and they did bad sales n got canceled so these to me are a big fat NO just my opinion

About 100 produced each for that particular wrestler. On a production run of 100, each figure would have to cost north of $100 to make a profit. And there aren't 100 people in the world who want to pay over $100 for a Frank Gotch toy.

I would definitely buy the George figure
Instead of those super old names, do y'all think a younger Bruno, Bilky Graham, Backlund, Ivan Koloff??, Pedro Morales, Mil Mascaras or some people like that would have a chance in hell at selling? I know I would love to have them in Elite form.
Probably would bomb at retail. MattyCollector.com maybe?

And I don't think there's a chance of getting them to be honest, the most likely of them is definitely Bob Backlund. I was surprised we even got one Bruno Samartino figure, so I doubt we'd get a second ever.

For some reason I really like those things

Thanks guys for the feedback, but I disagree with the notion that not even hardcore fans would buy these figures. Gotch and the rest of the pioneers that I mentioned might be ancient by today's standards but it would add historical value to any collection. These men never had figures produced of them. Also it would be a limited edition line (once and done), I understand that sadly other pioneers wouldn't sell but these four have the potential. Hackenschmidt, the first champion in pro wrestling history, Gotch, at the time he was America's number one wrestler his popularity could be compared with that of Hogan, Austin, and Cena today. The Toast of the Coast Gorgeous George brought entertainment to the world of wrestling a true pioneer. Finally Lou Thesz the last of the Hookers. Guys this line isn't for kids who love Cena it would be meant for wrestling buffs who admire the history, I truly believe that Mattel would be smart enough to market it. COME ON MATTEL MAKE HISTORY!

As probably the closest to a casual collector on this board, I can tell you with relative certainty that these will never happen because they wouldn't sell worth doody.

I would personally buy all of these but instead of Gorgeous George, I think Ed Strangler Lewis should be made.
