Bill Goldberg was on WQAM radio in Miami yesterday. During the interview, he noted that at the age of 46 he is open to a comeback to wrestling. This is because his son is now older and getting into watching matches on YouTube. He added that he’d like to come back as a heel.
He also spoke about Ryback, noting that while he has no ill feeling towards the guy, he feels he is “a total rip off”.

I mean, neither has much character outside of angry strong guy, so I can see where he's coming from, honestly.

The only thing that's somewhat similar is that they both had botched heel turns.

Strong bald guys with gloves that beat people up? That's a stretch. Goldberg needs to realize that he hasn't mattered for a decade.

I think that's just Goldberg, feeding his own ego. Wouldn't mind seeing him back, but he does think highly of himself.

These Goldberg/Ryback comparisons are stupid but I do see the things in common. Spear = Meathook, Jackhammer = Shell Shock, Both big, bald guys who squashed jobbers for a little while. The Goldberg chants need to stop though.
So Goldberg wants to return eh? He $$$ wants his $$$ son $$$ to £££ watch £££ his £££ dad $$$ Wrestle? Well its obvious Goldberg is a money guy and its obvious the guy gets a lot of hate but a short run wouldn't be that bad. Just imagine on a random Raw Goldberg came out and speared someone like Taker or Cena, everyone would explode and that would be a big moment. I'd bring in Goldberg for a couple money matches (Against Taker/Cena/Punk/Bryan/) and have him put over a lot of talent. I'd even have him lose to Ryback since that would be HUGE for Ryback's career.

Goldberg was called a rip off of Stone Cold back in the day, just because he had a similar attire and was bald with a goatee. I never saw it myself as they had totally different characters to me.

I could see how someone would think they were similar earlier on in Ryback's run since he came back last year, but now? You'd have to make some pretty big stretches, and even then you would be hard pressed to see anything. As for Goldberg returning as a heel, why? Not many people would want to boo him and did he forget the last time he tried a turn to the "dark side"? I guess it could depend on where he makes his return to. In WWE? Most likely not. TNA, ect? More likely, but I'll wait and see first.

He is a rip off of Goldberg. He even does his mouth/facial twitch that Goldberg did.

Goldberg is his own biggest fan. The only people who actually want him to return are the ones that think its the only way they'll get a Goldberg figure.

We are talking about the same people that chanted "Albert" to Tensai. The same people that take away from promos by always chanting "What?". Yeah, they just want to feel cool and popular.

I agree with him.
You can't deny the ridiculous similarities in their characters, especially the first 6 months of the Ryback gimmick, short, squash matches, undefeated, mysterious bald men, don't speak a whole lot, the Ryback character was clearly inspired by the Goldberg character whether anyone is willing to admit it or not. It was only a after Ryback started to get a push that he came out of that shadow slightly.

People saying that they're nothing alike haven't seen Goldberg matches. Ryback carries himself in a very similar way.
Goldberg was a million times more talented though.
