And yet they don't have the sense to use the most well cast character of X3, instead they're using the worst cast character of First Class. They should film a DVD extra called "slapping Nicolas Hoult because he's terrible". You prefer the Ashton Kutcher lookalike? Andrew Garfield, and his interpretation of the character is vastly superior to Tobey's. Several times watching ASM I thought "damn, THAT is Spider-man" -- the wise-cracking kid with a troubled past just trying to get by. Never bought that with Tobey's Spidey. He was just Raimi's idea of "I'm a nerd, and if I were Spider-Man, this is what I'd be!"...which was on full display mostly in SM3, but it showed through in all 3 movies. So yes, I prefer Garfield, entirely. Spiderman is supposed to be a nerd, just like Tobey. Infact, Tobey looks nearly identical to Stan Lee's and Steve Ditko's original Spidey. Garfield was completely wrong for the part. Funnily enough even his own girlfriend EMMA STONE said that he sucked as Spiderman (and that Maguire was much better).

No, Garfield was way better. It just felt like every version of Spiderman Ive ever seen from comics to cartoons. Tobey just looked like a jacked 30 year old. I didnt HATE Tobey but Garfield did such a better job.

He is supposed to be a nerd...not a muscular version of Sam Raimi.
As for Emma Stone, that's on her. If we all went by our womens' opinions, well --
The world wouldn't be nearly as fun, now, would it?

But women are women, and I don't bend over backwards to please anyone but fans. A relationship is about respect, to me. If Stone actually said that, Garfield should have booted her. I'd hate to say that, cause I love Emma Stone. But it's disrespectful and an utter lack of support in their relationship. I've yet to find this statement Googling it.

Garfield was infinitely better than Maguire. Stan Lee has said it himself, as has almost everyone I've seen that is familiar with the source material. I can't believe that a Spider-Man fan could honestly make an argument for Maguire being better.

I'll actually agree with you on this. The one thing I did prefer Maguire over Garfield in was the physical aspect. I grew up with the 90s Spidey...and I am just used to Spider-man having that physical build. I get where they're going with the ASM franchise, but that was the one thing I preferred from Raimi's Spider-man flicks. Otherwise, yes, Garfield still wins.

I'm going to take her comments with a grain of salt. She's a comedienne, and it's the Jay Leno show.
It's in her nature to stir the pot.
*edit* Not too mention -- her job.

Honestly, I think Batman Forever is the worst Batman movie so far. I enjoy watching it occasionally because I was such a huge fan as a kid, but watching it now is just cumbersome and annoying. Tommy Lee Jones is awful in it, Jim Carrey is Jim Carrey but his character makes no sense, and the movie's tone is just all over the place. At least Batman & Robin was a pretty faithful tribute to the campy sort of Silver Age comics and the old Adam West show. And come on now... let's not compare Christian Bale with Val Kilmer... that's pretty insulting to Bale and his performances. Kilmer was worse than Clooney. And I just can't agree with that. Clooney was terrible. Batman and Robin was God-awful. Kilmer has been the best Bruce Wayne to date, while Keaton has been the best Batman. No one has gotten the role perfectly, yet. I'd say that Kilmer and Bale are decently even when it comes to acting ability. Bale may put his body through the ringer for a role, but dedication isn't the same as talent. If we're talking talent, it's not like Bale is leaps and bounds better. And btw, Bale was a worse Batman than Clooney. ::typed in raspy throat cancer over-acting voice:: Yikes. Well, that's what they call difference of opinion, I suppose!

Indeed.
Though, I think if you look at the roles side-by-side, Kilmer and Bale are about in the same league. At least "old Kilmer" to "current Bale", anyways. I think their filmographies would speak to more than opinion...
But to each their own.
As long as the new rumor about Orlando Bloom being the front-runner as the new Batman isn't true, I don't really care.

Agreed. I have no faith in the rumors of Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Scott Adkins or Orlando Bloom as Batman. Josh Brolin scares me because he seems to fit WB's history of miscasting talented actors as Batman, but I'd bet on Bale taking a huge paycheck to play Batman again.

I wouldn't be shocked to hear they paid out for Bale to come back. Everyone has their price. My top choice remains Adkins. His acting has vastly improved the past few projects, and there's no doubt he could handle the Batman side physically. I also like the older brother from the 'Teen Wolf' show that was mentioned. He's not bad from what I've seen. JDM would be my choice if they HAD to go older. And I'd be alright with Manganiello too, since he was on their list. Ryan Gosling, Brolin and now Bloom are actors that I enjoy -- just would never want as Batman. Ever.

They're going to cast a superstar as Batman. You can quote me on that. Scott Adkins has been in like two movies that even made it to theaters.
