The end of X2 with Wolverine and Psyclops mourning and getting ready to blow each other in enough to make me hate the moving. They ruined Wolverine in the first three Xmen.

blow each other?
TINY misunderstanding there I reckon.
on the subject of which was worse.....SM3 or X3?I gotta give the nod to SM3
1)sympathetic Sandman.....why?connected to Bens murder...why? 2)Harry Osborn...starts off bad....then good...then bad?then good?also sympathetic BTW.yeah thats 2 in one movie 3)Gwen Stacy.....how on earth did anyone expect Gwen to work when she was just rammed in here for no real reason?this role could easily have been Betty. 4)Mary Jane....still trying to figure out why she was even in this.oh yes so she could be in peril AGAIN at the movies climax. 5)Venom...I haven't got all night so Ill keep it brief.Topher Grace as Eddie Brock.costume/symbiote saga and the creation of Venom sharing a movie with 40 other plotlines.
utter disaster IMO.I was speechless for about 20 minutes after the cinema.I think Fiona thought I was having a slow burn stroke or something....LOL.

I agree, SM3 was an utter trainwreck- beginning with the screenplay, bleeding into the direction and even the acting. It was all around just the death stroke to this franchise the same way B&R was to Batman. Raimi should never have tried to retcon Uncle Ben's death, or make Sandman the sympathetic character he did. Harry's amnesia was just cheesy and weird (especially that omelette scene with MJ), not to mention the strange emo Peter and his viagra commercial street scene or jazz club dance number. Oddest film tonally I've ever seen- jumping from ham to brooding darkness (bell tower scene). I really wish this movie was never made, and despite the fact X-3 bastardized Cyclops and wiped out Xavier, there were at least a few cool scenes here and there.

yeah I can say straight up Im not a huge fan of X3 BUT it has some very redeeming features...
1)Kelsey Grammar as Beast 2)Ellen Page as Shadowcat 3)the action sequence on Alcatraz 4)nod to the Sentinels/Danger Room sequence
it had heaps of bad too....Juggernaut(ugh),early elimination of Mystique and portrayal of Multiple Man amongst the primary moans.I would add the death of Xavier but this always seems to have been a temporary thing as the post credit seqence shows.
I think Ratner gets an awful lot of crap here....but people have to remember he stepped into Vaughns shoes and inherited a heaviy interfered with movie.lots of the decisions here have Rothmans fingerprints all over them.

X2 for me.
I love that movie!
It and First Class are my favorite of the X-Men movies *so far*.

I don't think Spiderman 3 is all that bad. The emo Peter was there to show that the Symbiote was drastically changing his personality. I will admit that the way Raimi tries to make all his villains sympathetic is kind of annoying. At least they didn't do that with the Green Goblin.
What Raimi failed in doing was realizing that there are ways to create villains with motives without making them sympathetic.
Spiderman 3 is still more enjoyable than any of the X-Men films though IMO.

Yep, TDKR just felt like a bunch of deleted scenes from TDK if that makes any sense? Batman Begins and TDK were very different films and good in their own ways but TDKR just felt like more of the same, rushed and sloppy.

It's like Christopher Nolan was making a parody of the first two movies and typical superhero movie conventions.

How are X2 and Spider-Man 2 seen as the best Marvel movies? Did people not watch other Marvel movies?
I also don't agree with anyone that sympathizes with Ratner over X3. That movie was awful because of 2 things: 1. He's awful. 2. Fox is a terrible studio that rushed that movie.
They literally wrote a garbage movie that, thank god, they're essentially having using Days of Future Past to reset.

Oh and I dont think there has ever been a good 3rd part to comic book movie. Batman Forever tops TDKR, for me, honestly. It would have been perfect if they had kept the darker stuff that got cut...TDKR tried too hard. And as great as Hardy was as Bane, it never really got above a strong "meh" for me. That and Bale was never a great choice for the role, in my opinion. X2 over SM2 any day. Raimi's Spidey films were weak from beginning to end, but the deeper they went, the more pathetic the character got. I didn't mind the sympathetic villains. I just never bought Tobey as Spidey. X3 over SM3 for me as well. Both weren't very good, but I despise SM3 for what it is. The scene with Tobey thrusting/dancing down the sidewalk pointing at women was just -- terrible. Terrible, I say!

Tommy Lee Jones is awful in it, Jim Carrey is Jim Carrey but his character makes no sense, and the movie's tone is just all over the place. At least Batman & Robin was a pretty faithful tribute to the campy sort of Silver Age comics and the old Adam West show. And come on now... let's not compare Christian Bale with Val Kilmer... that's pretty insulting to Bale and his performances. Kilmer was worse than Clooney.

They should film a DVD extra called "slapping Nicolas Hoult because he's terrible". I just never bought Tobey as Spidey. You prefer the Ashton Kutcher lookalike?

Thing with DoFP that bugs me is its ......Wolverine as the main ing character AGAIN. When the comic was about Kitty Pride and I think Ellen Paige could handle a lead role but lets be real its because Singer has a crush on shirtless Hugh Jackman. As far as I know everyone is tired of Wolverine.

I'm not sure they had a choice because I believe Grammer was filming Transformers 4 when Days of Future Past's filming had started. Plus considering it's a time travel story and he goes to the time when young Hank McCoy exists, pretty sure they wanted to maintain a consistent character for it.

Clooney was terrible. Batman and Robin was God-awful. Kilmer has been the best Bruce Wayne to date, while Keaton has been the best Batman. No one has gotten the role perfectly, yet. I'd say that Kilmer and Bale are decently even when it comes to acting ability. Bale may put his body through the ringer for a role, but dedication isn't the same as talent. If we're talking talent, it's not like Bale is leaps and bounds better. And btw, Bale was a worse Batman than Clooney. ::typed in raspy throat cancer over-acting voice::

Andrew Garfield, and his interpretation of the character is vastly superior to Tobey's. Several times watching ASM I thought "damn, THAT is Spider-man" -- the wise-cracking kid with a troubled past just trying to get by. Never bought that with Tobey's Spidey. He was just Raimi's idea of "I'm a nerd, and if I were Spider-Man, this is what I'd be!"...which was on full display mostly in SM3, but it showed through in all 3 movies. So yes, I prefer Garfield, entirely.
