It's just about 2am and I'm still up. My sheets are almost completely pulled off the mattress and I refuse to make the bed for a third time. I'm hot and fidgeting. I'd go sleep in my basement but I'm on a diet and I'd be too tempted to snack. Help.

If this keeps happening, it's time to get a home gym. You can work out to tire yourself to a point you will want to sleep. I work out in the middle of the night when I can't sleep in my home gym works every time for me.

Try sleeping with a fan blowing on you. The breeze is comfortable & the slight noise it makes is soothing. Or eat a banana. Bananas are full of potassium and magnesium, which both help to relax your muscles to give you a peaceful night’s sleep. Bananas also have the added benefit of helping to lower your blood pressure while you sleep.

I guess it's just an old wives tale, but it stuck. Thanks though. Some nights if I can't sleep, I just pull an all nighter and sleep in the morning. I do that on the weekends but I have summer school on weekdays Maybe if you tried not posting on this site that would help This actually helps put me to sleep. When I'm not doing anything I get more restless and fidgety. You can't sleep in the basement because you'll be tempted to snack? Does Lil Debbie live in your basement? I honestly just died laughing. What I mean is there's a kitchen down there and a pantry where all the good stuff is stored. Thank you everyone for all your help. Usually watching some episodes on my laptop of whatever tv show I'm currently watching puts me to sleep. I'm watching Taxi right now but I left the dvd set in my basement and I didn't want to go down and get it. See reply #5

Take a Melatonin pill. Don't need a prescription, non addictive, don't need to take every night, and is all natural.

I tend to fire up netflix and put on something like South Park or some other easy show I've already seen in the background. Volume right down, super low contrast/brightness setting. Sleep timer on the TV so it doesn't wake you mid sleep. I am a REALLY bad sleeper but its the thing I've found works best for me.

I might have to try and use that method again but turning the brightness down. I have a terrible time sleeping.
