Hey guys,
I love old school WWF Hasbro & LJN action figures, but I'm thinking about buying some early Jakks figures.
The questions I have are about the first few series. That era of wrestling is what I'd be into the most.
Are there any series 1, 2 & 3 that are rarer than most?
Are series 1, 2 & 3 hard to find on eBay as loose figures? (I only collect loose action figures...MOCs take up too much room in my small apartment)
If anyone could help me by answering those questions, I'd be extremely happy.
Thanks!

At this point, there is nothing that you can't find loose for under $15 shipped from the first 3 series. The issue is availability and finding them at the right time. Diesel, Razor, Warrior, and Series 2 HBK in my opinion are the hardest to find. I'm currently doing the same thing you are except looking for them MOC, as well as the best of 97 series and early 2 Packs.

Man, part of me wishes I didn't use my CS1 Warrior for a da custom lol.
Set eBay to email you daily about your saved searches, I get emails daily about real scale rings

Thanks! The problem with collecting Jakks figures, is that you have a variety to choose from for lines. BCA, RA, DA, Classics. So are you looking to just collect a certain type, or all of them?? Because BCAs go the cheapest on eBay. You can get them MOC for $5 each at times.

I'm not sure which lines I want to buy. After searching, I would most likely be into BCA and possibly Classics.
I'm a fan of 80's & early-mid 90's wrestling, so that's why I thought series 1,2&3 would have more wrestlers I enjoyed growing up, but maybe I'm wrong.
I have seen a lot of 'classic superstars' on eBay, but I'm not a fan of how many of them look.
The more movements an action figure has, the less I like it. I guess that's why I'm more of a Hasbro & LJN guy. Series 1-2-3 don't appear to have wrist joints like modern day action figure. I enjoy that aspect.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, the more unrealistic and more of a caricature-ish the figure, the more I like it.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction so far. If you guys have any Hasbro or LJN questions, I'll be sure to return the favor, my friends.

I would say you should get bca in accordance to what you like but the ra/cs style has the biggest and most diverse roster of all IMO

I'll probably find a few cheap Jakks lots on eBay to get started. I saw a few today, but I didn't pull the trigger. I still need a few Hasbros & LJNs to complete the sets. I'll probably head the Jakks route once I finish up those lines. You've been a great help!

CS is the way to go. I love the figures in that series.

I was drawn to the CS line from the beginning, but then I saw the 'Earthquake' & 'Typhoon' figures...good lord, those are awful. Their heads are so tiny compared to their bodies. If that figure was in real scale, they would each weigh 700 lbs, haha.
I like all the other non-fat figures in the CS line. I might wait until I find a decent lot and pick some up.
I'm not a fan of RA because of the exaggerated muscle on some of the wrestlers that weren't that ripped in the first place.

The BCA ones arent worth diddly squat and you could probably pick up huge loose collections for cheap. Its a shame as I have tons of them MOC. I do like the BCAs though, they made alot of different guys.

I like some of the Classic Superstars but not all of them, BCA's are nice because you don't have to pay an arm and a leg for them. Lots to choose from!

I still think BCAs were some of the coolest figures ever produced. And as people said, you can get them dirt cheap MOC on eBay. They are worth nothing, but for us collectors, that is helpful. It means we can get a lot for a cheap price.
If you are looking to get Classics of the LJN guys or the Hasbro guys you have, I suggest just looking up said name of the guy you want to buy, and if he has a classic figure, it'll show up for ya.
Of course, it may be expensive. For some reason, some eBay sellers believe that a lot of those classic figures are worth serious cash, when they shouldn't be for how over produced they were.
