I think at this point it's getting pretty obvious Walt goes after Jack and his gang and the ricin is for himself. Not sure where Jesse fits in to the equation though. I still don't think the Ricin is for him. He's dying of cancer. He's become so proud nothing will make him commit suicide. But my god what an episode. From the beginning I was in shock. Everything from laughter to tears jst everything. I don't care what anyone says, I'm still pulling for Walt I think Walt is totally broken by that point. His pride is all but gone.

GREED Same reason Walt kept cooking. I really wonder what happens. I still think Walt will go out a hero, Darth Vader style. I just don't see this having the obvious Scarface ending like everyone else thinks.

I really want to see jesse and walt end as friends but that obviously won't happen now.

Amazing episode. Poor Hank and Gomez. The butcher knife scene was crazy. The phone call between Skyler and Walt was very good. Emmy worthy on her and his parts.

Let's not forget how Walt bought that huge machine gun at the beginning of S5a in the foreshadowing scene.

I think Saul is going to have Walt take out all of the Ararian Brotherhood guys and I could see Walt and Jesse resolving their differences in some capacity. I could easily see it being Walt giving his life to save Jesse.

I had to take a xanax mid-episode tonight.
True story.
It was crazy intense when Walt Jr. called the cops...OMG!

This is starting to shape up like a Shakespearean play where everyone's stupid mistakes snowball into everyone's deaths in the end. And call me a bad guy or whatever, but I'm rooting for Walt.

I watched Night of Champions last night, followed by the entire Hawks/Niners game, and despite having to get up for work in the morning, I had to stay up to watch Breaking Bad too. I couldn't let it go. I sat in bed with my hand covering my mouth for nearly the entire episode.
Can we just go ahead and cement it as one of the greatest stories ever told on television? Or are we already past that point?

How exactly could they file an amber alert for Walt taking Holly when its his own kid..... In many states, there does not need to be evidence to suggest that the child is in significant danger of death or serious injury. Parental abductions are well within the guidelines of an amber alert. At this stage, given the fact that Walt Jr. told police that Walt tried to hurt his mother, the police would have reason to believe Walt is a dangerous individual.

Am I alone? I thought that whole episode was total crap. I said halfway through it, "I'm really hoping this is some kind of bad dream".
It's like they shoehorned in every possible attempt for it to be 'edgy'. I really don't buy that Skylar would try to kill Walt after having his back the whole time, nor do I buy that Walt Jr would call the cops on his dad. Am I also supposed to believe that Heisenberg, the smartest guy in the room, wasn't able to reason with an inbred Neo Nazi in order to save his brother-in-law's life?
But what made no sense to me was Walt ordering for Jesse to be killed? Are they serious? That goes completely against the whole point of Walt's character, who had just realized how bad a decision it was to kill Jesse in the last episode. I thought it was completely shoddy writing, this character who we have gotten inside the head of for the last 5 season and he did a complete u-turn. The characters didn't act like themselves in any of the scenes and none of the plot of the episode fitted in with where the story seemed to be heading up until this point.
It this point it feels like they're going for the darkest possible ending, and considering the general feeling of the show until this point, that just strikes me as totally cheap and out of character.
nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
EDIT: oh I also forgot to mention how much I hated Todd saving Jesse. That, "wait we should spare him for information" cliche was done to death in the 80's.
On the plus side, I loved Hank's death scene and Walt taking the fall over the phone to skylar.

For all Skyler/Walt Jr. know Walt had just killed Hank. Walt Jr. realized the person he idolized was a total phony. You really think Skyler would go along after Hanks death? How the hell do you reason with people like that? Do you think there's anything Walt could have done to stop them from killing a DEA agent after already killing his partner? They haven't exactly portrayed these guys as reasonable up to this point. Walt never blames himself. His mindset was if Jesse hadn't gotten Hank involved, none of this would have happened. If anything he realized he should have killed Jesse long ago.

I think his rage on Jesse was heat of the moment. One of his best friends/brother in law as just murdered before his eyes. The first time anyone he cared about was killed. I do think Walt is losing his grip but I think he may have something brilliant up his sleeve before its all over.
