Whoever is going to play the Joker is going to get it even worse. Like Bale as Batman, Ledger did an awesome rendition of the Joker, but to say no one else could play the part is absurd. And personally, I preferred Jack Nicholson's version way more anyway. If they want to save themselves a whole load of grief, they'll just never use the Joker again lol. I always favored Jacks Joker over Ledgers....ALWAYS....and man the sh*t it used to get me into on this board....LOL. however on the subject of The Joker......he WILL be used again.he is where the $$ is at and WB knows this.TDK & Batman in 89 showed us this too...he is overwhelmingly Bats 1# villian(thre are no close contenders)and I bet WB cant wait to get him onscreen again.but confusingl to me....people tend to think he wont be because of Ledger. I know Nolan always says he had no plans to use Joker again but I dont believe that for one second.theres no way his sense of linear storytelling would allow a character that did what he did to just drift off into the quiet.he defo had plans for him IMO but of course things out of his control overtook him.

The Joker is Batman's arch-enemy, it would be terrible to never have the character portrayed again just because of a bunch of idiot fanboys.

Of the four choices they listed there, the only one I don't hate is Ben Affleck. I would be okay with him as Batman, but I have a hard time seeing him in any movies like this anymore. He's probably the actor on the list that can most afford to turn the role down (and I believe he has already stated he has no interest).

I guess I'm in the minority here but I find Bale to be one of the worst Batmen ever. To be a good Batman you have to be a good Bruce AND a good Batman. Bale was neither. I'm not sure I'd even rank him higher than Clooney, because at least partially the film would have been bad without him. Bale's Batman portrayal has no reason to be terrible, other than the fact that Bale himself completely sucked as Batman. I think David Boreanaz would have made a perfect batman, it's a shame he turned it down. He has the perfect look and tone.

This is good except for his last pick and movie idea...

Hmmm...add Wes Bentley to a list of people I'd have never considered, but would now love to see get the role.

Bentley and Affleck would both be alright, for me.
I'm glad we'll be finding out soon.
I'm shocked Boreanez outright turned it down.
I can see Affleck doing the same, though. Playing the role would do nothing for him at this point, other than rectifying him in the eyes of fanboys who (unfairly) hate him from DareDevil.

And I disagree here -- Ledger's performance was scene-stealing. Nicholson was great, but never how I imagined Batman's #1 enemy. Other then that, I do agree that they not only will use Joker again -- but NEED too. I would be pissed if Joker wasn't used again just because of what happened with Ledger. Completely unfair to us as fans.

I think it'd be really cool to see Kevin Conroy as the Batman

I'd love them to go back and offer it to Boreanaz. I can't think of someone who looks more like Bruce Wayne, has the right look and build to be Batman and can play a deep/dark character.

Conroy is strictly a voice actor (and a really old one) but his voice is great. And Boreanaz isn't nearly "marquee" enough to ever be considered for a role like this now, as WB is looking to make an historically huge movie. Plus he's all tied up with filming Bones.

If you were going to go with someone like Conroy to actually PLAY Batman -- may as well get Willem Dafoe.

Bale is Batman just like RDJ is Iron Man, no question about it. So what is everyones thoughts on who will be his replacement in the future films if he does not hop on board? It just wouldn't feel right without Bale as Batman, and i read an article that says Ryan Gosling is being considered for the next Batman role..which I hope is a joke, I like him and everything but that's just .. no.. just no I don't think Bale is that great of a Batman. Good, sure, but not like downey is to Stark. Not to mention, the Batman he played isn't really the World's Greatest Detective type of Batman, which is what will be needed for the crossover films anyways. The Batman in the next few movies will likely be nothing like any of the live action Batmans to date.

Bales Batman Movies have been by far the worst imo. Superhero movies shouldn't try to look real, things should be cartoony and comic book esqe. One of the reasons why my favorite Batman was George Clooney. I loved his Batman movies because they didnt try their hardest to make everything seem like reality. They knew Superheros don't really exist, and are just fiction out of comic books, and that's how the movies were presented. How all superhero movies should be.
