this is a very interesting thread. and yes, in the hi res pic, it's definetly a pic of hogan on the belt. little bit of history and nastalgia here. love it!

I was able to tinker with the brightness and contrast in the photo and from what I saw appears to be a custom belt with a photo of Hogan on the belt. See for yourself:  |

I just tweeted the pic to WWE, Joey Styles (since he works for wwe.com) and hulk Hogan and asked if they can tell which it is. Maybe we can get some answers

When I zoom in as close as I can on my phone, I can definitely see the old WWF logo on the top of the belt, so its got to be theirs. It also looks like there are 3 words above the Hogan photo. Probably something like world wrestling champion. |
