They need to be made of a softer rubber like the Jakks ones were.

I like the way the mattel ones look and I compare my played with Jakks pads to my cousins played with mattels ( He's 7 and wants to be grim so they take a beating) and his mattels are in better condition. I just hate making customs and removing feet just to get a knee pad

They're still better than Jakks ones

the leg sleeve pads are the worst thing to ever happen to wrestling figures
stiff plastic that hinders 90% movement, and completely in-accurate

The knee sleeves are bad, but otherwise the Mattel pads are great and blow Jakks' away

I resorted to rf clothing for their pads and also sometimes use jakks elbow pads for certain knees. I rarely if ever keep Mattel padding on figures. Now that Mattel thought it would be brilliant to use the same plastic material for t-shirts and jackets I have totally given up hope with the clothing and padding for Mattel figures. This coming from a company that specializes in Barbie clothing and accessories is a kick in the nuts. Imagine Barbie in a full plastic gown?

Mattel knee pads and elbow pads. They are so restrictive. I usually just take them off. stingersplash, got any smaller sized ones you want to get rid of? I need a few for some of my 80s/90s figures

I have no problems with them. They could definitely be worse. Looking at you Jakks!

Those things in addition to the inital colors that Mattel used to use kept me away from the line for the first 2 years. But especially the colors. They used mustard yellow for everyones hair...

why are people saying Jakks' kneepads were bad? what was bad about them?
the fact that they were "rubber" and allowed you to bend the knees? they were too easy to take off? they were a perfect size?

Only ever had problems once with the knee sleeves. I split a pad slightly. It's not so bad noticeable, but it was where I tried to bend the knee on a figure too far.

This coming from a company that specializes in Barbie clothing and accessories is a kick in the nuts. Imagine Barbie in a full plastic gown? When planning the line, Mattel didn't think that hardcore wrestling collectors were particularly interested in dressing their dolls up like Barbies. They were going for a completely different feel and market. WWE is a boy's line, not a girl's line. Dress-up dolls are usually a girl's thing. For a boy's toy, the key things are fun and durability. As Mattel, Jakks and the custom clothing companies prove, they can't make decent clothing at this scale anyway. It always fits oddly and looks weird. So if we were getting CM Punks with removable t-shirts, boots, trunks, hoodies etc, they'd be expensive as hell, look awful and the dress-up features wouldn't appeal to boys, the core market. why are people saying Jakks' kneepads were bad? Because they were bad. Too loose.

too loose??? how so? i never once had a jakks kneepad fall off of a figure. never. and at one point i had almost 1000 figures. the only issues i ever had with Jakks' pads were the DA elbow pads, those were loose and never really stayed on arms right.

I never had them fall off proper, but I did have replacement knee pads that I bought off of Ebay for figures that I had bought loose that they were missing from fall off a lot. That might be what has happened for these people who are claiming it. Factory fresh and untampered figures have always been fine on RA figures. The problem with the RA knee pads is the people who take them off to resell them. You have to stretch them out to get them over the large feet. Once they are stretched, they are ruined, I haven't been able to do anything to get them back on. They were never meant to be removed, but that doesn't stop some people. DA elbow pads are awful. The kneepads slide around a lot but they don't fall off.

My friend picked up his elite 14 rock and the knee pad just fell off. I laughed at him for a good 5 min.
