CM Punk is stale now. He hasn't changed anything about himself since his 'pipe bomb' incident in the summer of 2011. I wouldn't care if Punk left for good. I think the WWE is too high on Daniel Bryan now anyhow. Punk is looked at almost as a past tense sort of character for them. I mean, when you are booked in a feud with Curtis Axel, that's not showing the company is pushing you at the moment. I think having Daniel Bryan leave would be a bigger shock. The guy is fecking over!! Everyone loves him. He's only feuding with Axel to extend his feud with Heyman and to give him something to do.Probably also to make the IC title look good

Just Punk messing around with a guy... making fun of an arbitrary age that the other guy decided was officially "old". Nothing to see here.

WWE did just fine before Punk, They'll do just fine after Punk. I for one won't lose any sleep if punk came out on RAW tonight and said he's leaving forever. RAW is sure of a hell lot better with Punk, though.

CM Punk has tried to leave the WWE multiple times over the last 3 years, but they keep sucking him back in with the promise of pushes, Titles, and other perks (such as special travel accommodations).
He just doesn't strike me as somebody who is going to be one of those guys that holds on for as long as possible. He's not going to be wrestling in his 40's, maybe not even late late 30's.
Some guys will stay as long as somebody will pay them, other guys just are done when they don't want to do it anymore, and for as good as CM Punk still is in the ring, I think it's clear that he has his eyes on the exit, between the combination of the travel and the fact that he's been really banged up physically over the last 18 months or so.

But he had a really good point that back in 2011 when Punk was legit going to leave WWE, when he resigned with the company and won the WWE Title but they went ahead with the angle that he was leaving anyway, WWE should have held Punk off WWE TV for months and had him go wrestle in places like ROH and contract him out to Indy's and at selected Indy shows have some WWE Superstars show up like they were trying to get the belt back. In the meantime, WWE crowns a new WWE Champion. Basically, then a few months down the line, CM Punk shows up on RAW with the WWE Title and claims to be the REAL WWE Champion...pretty much what WWE ended up doing anyway, but WWE only waited like less than 2 full weeks before they brought Punk back with the other belt, so him walking out and them crowing a new Champion (Rey, then Cena) had literally NO IMPACT because it didn't even have any time to register, it was just too quickly done and they didn't give it any time at all to develop. He was gone and back before you realized he was gone. I mean, WWE is all about making money and ratings and merchandise, and from a business perspective it makes ZERO sense to keep a guy off TV, off PPV and off live events when he's as white hot as CM Punk was during the summer and end of 2011.....but from a storyline perspective it had the potential to be EPIC. But in the end, the storyline suffered and didn't live up to the hype but WWE ended up making a ton more money WITH Punk than they would have WITHOUT him, which like I said, from a business perspective was really the only option.

I think Punk should have had time off after SummerSlam. Then make a major return. Imagine the pop he would get

I think Punk should have had time off after SummerSlam. Then make a major return. Imagine the pop he would get I definitly think that WWE should keep Punk off TV unless the feud is really big. I think he's too banged up to waste on stuff that's not really worth it. I mean, he went from feuding with The Rock, to John Cena, to The Undertaker, to Brock Lesnar......to Curtis Axel. Now, granted the angle is really about Punk and Paul Heyman and Axel is only in there because Heyman can't physically have a match with CM Punk, although they've teased it about 5 times so far....and the promos between them have been fantastic. But I don't think it's registering with the live audience. I think the promos between Punk and Paul are something that really only the adult internet fans are going to appreciate. But I definitely think that CM Punk should be held off TV for bigger things.

I ask my little cousin a question to see how a little kid thinks and he wants to see punk face Orton and help D-Bry. When punk fought axel last week and just looked at Heymen he wondered why Punk let him get away. This feud is only going to hurt both guys IMO

yea, but dont you think this is a roundabout way to raise Axel up to a higher level while letting the Punk/Heyman feud build to the finish. This should be good for Axel and good for Punk and Heyman... heck having Punk get beat up by Axel is just good for business...

Could've been huge. he should've been kept off for at least 3 months

That sounds like a change to me.
