I paid about $70 when I got mine at TRU over here when they were first released. Now it just sits in it's box in my cupboard as I can't fit it anywhere since moving.

Or find a Hardcore ring from the good old days on eBay or Craigslist for cheap. The new spring rings are terrible. But no, I don't think the ESR was worth $160 and was surprised to get $200 for it I keep hearing about this hardcore ring. What are the defining qualities that make it a great ring? Size, playability, maybe the storage compartment ? Check my name on eBay, maddie1339. I have an Attitude Ring (similar to the hardcore ring) with all the bells and whistles!! Price is negotiable if we open a trade thread.

Thanks for the info. I might need to get me one. You won't be disappointed. The hard part is finding the cage and EC that they made for it as well Ones called Chaos in the cell Other is just called elimination chamber I think The elimination chamber was never made to fit this. The 2 play packs are (1) Chaos in the cell and (2) Cage of Rage.... The structures were the same concept, but Chaos in the cell had a top to it that had a break-away in it. Also, Hardcord rings were evolved Attitude rings. Attitude rings doubled as carrying cases. The hardcore ring took that out in favor of a side opening (with no door), to give it a more realistic feel. The Hardcore ring also goes by the name, Backlash ring, or WM17 ring. Their we're 2 large package deals (1) Hardcore, with Jim Ross AND Earl Hebner (2) Ring of Poison (Backlash ring), with Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler. Both came with breakaway announcer tables, (1) chair and headset. The Cage of Rage came in 2 colors; grey and black (NWO Playpack..... Hardest to find). These rings came with tunkbuckle/ ring post packs and apron/ ropes packs. Apron were themed; raw is war, smack down, sunday night heat, WM, WM 18, and summerslam..... Also made "RVD" aprons and generic "WWF" scratch logo. Overall, this was a collectors dream... Still is. This ring was light years ahead of its time. As time went on Jakks realized that they couldn't push these rings at a profit.... Mostly because of it's beauty, lol. These rings were great looking, durable, and if anything did break they had replacements for purchase. So it was consumer friendly, but wasn't making them money. Jakks pulled the line quickly and adopted the Spring loaded rings. The idea carried over into the Mattel line. Spring loaded rings are made to break easily, thus a need to buy them repeatedly. Today, hardcore rings are still favored by most. Not only for nastalga, but dependability.

Its not worth paying over $80. Its honestly just WAAAAY too big. I cut 4 inches off the width and length and its STILL too big to put on any shelf or TV stand. I doubt kids were even able to reach all the way across it.

Shame they're going for so much now... less than a year ago I saw a stack of about 50 of them at a Mattel retail store for about $30 each. I could have really made a ton off them.
