Quick, but fun. May have been premature, but it was a matter of moments anyway..

Those body kicks completely took Benson out of the fight. You could just see his demeanor change after each one. So glad Pettis got the shot over TJ. No question that HE was the guy to dethrone Henderson.

Wow - that was impressive... I never thought Pettis would win/finish it that quicky. I'm so down for "Champion Vs Champion" Pettis Vs Aldo. And FWIW, I thought the Barnett stoppage was spot on - Mir was done.

God I am so jazzed Barnett won. I've taken a lot of jive for saying he was gonna win for weeks, nice to see TAH WARMASTER do it.

Rothwell was very impressive, as was Rothwell. Probably the best I've ever seen from him. Barnett looked like he was extremely motivated. I was so disappointed in the way Bendo went down. I had a bad feeling about this fight for him, but definitely didn't expect it to go down like that. Congrats to Pettis, he's on a great roll right now.

I do believe all my picks won on the main card. Rothwell, Poirier, Barnett and Pettis. Actually no, I was picking Guida and was wrong there. Oh well, 4 out of 5 ain't bad, especially for me. Lol.
Congrats to Pettis for becoming the new UFC Lightweight champ. I just knew he was going to walk away with that belt. The guy is incredible and I knew he was more than good enough to beat Henderson again.
Where does Benson go from here?? Who should he fight next?? Edgar again?? Whoever it is, I'm sure it'll be a great fight no matter what.
On a side note, my brother had said to me that this year we would see all new champions in the UFC and so far, I think he's spot on. Chris Weidman won the Middleweight belt, Anthony Pettis just won the Lightweight belt and in about 20 days we will see if the trend continues at UFC 165 when "Bones" Jones takes on Alexander Gustafsson. You just never know how a fight will turn out. Can't wait to find out!!

...if they did an Aldo/Pettis super-fight, would Aldo have to give up his title and move up permanently? (or would it be like when BJ fought GSP the second time?). If Aldo moved-up, we could have Edgar Vs Mendes for the vacant FW title...

i assume that would depend on whether aldo won, and then whether hed wanna continue to cut to 145 to defend both belts. most of us have been saying for a year or two now, that it looks like the cut to 145 hurts aldo, so if he moves up and wins... i imagine he'd stay at 155. in which case, love the potential for edgar vs mendes.

While I think Pettis/Aldo would be a fun match, the only problem I have with it happening right away is because there's a lot of challengers at Featherweight waiting for a shot at Aldo. Plus, with Pettis now as champion that opens a lot of new exciting matches at Lightweight. Pettis/Melendez is a no brainer if Melendez beats Sanchez.

I'm sure Melendez will get another chance in the near future. Don't see him slowing down, and I think his fight with Ben could've gone either way, so I'll be glad when he gets another crack at it. Pettis/Melendez will be a great fight.

TJ and Mendes can wait, the fact is every time there is a "super fight" on the table you better do it ASAP before it goes away. No matter what there will ALWAYS be a problem of someone having to wait. So you either have a super fight or never have a super fight, simple as.

No matter what there will ALWAYS be a problem of someone having to wait. So you either have a super fight or never have a super fight, simple as. It really depends on what your definition of a "Superfight" is. The way I see it is, Pettis just won the title. This opens many interesting matches at Lightweight for the belt. Give Pettis a match or two to give him more exposure to the public. Then if the Superfight is still on the table, pull the trigger. If one should lose their belt, it's not a big deal since I have no doubt in my mind that they'll eventually fight each other. The fight isn't appealing just because it's Champion vs Champion, but more so, the thought of two exciting, explosive fighters in Anthony Pettis and Jose Aldo facing each other.
