I'd like to know people's thoughts on Bischoff's - did anyone else find it as interesting as I did?

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned Bob Holly's book yet, from what I've read from reviews it's one of the best wrestling books.

I actually read Dynamite's book. It's nowhere near a literary masterpiece, but like a car crash it keeps you intrigued. He has a bunch of crazy stories and seems to get a kick out of how much of a dick he was. The Death of WCW is another favorite of mine. I also love the Wrestlecrap book. I always love reading about horrible gimmicks and storylines. I skimmed through Hardcore Holly's book a few months ago and what I read was pretty interesting. I might have to pick it up sometime. I enjoyed the Death of WCW book as well but it seems to go over the top a bit in bashing the company. Yes, WCW was full of crap but it doesn't really give credit to the few things that WCW did well. They basically say Goldberg was the only star they made yet DDP was HUGE during the monday night wars and he was a WCW product. Same w/ Booker T and Steiner who also got their first big main event pushes in the company. However I LOVE the Wrestlecrap book. The section onf HHH's "reign of terror" from '02-05 was great. It doesn't bash HHH for the sake of it. The author in fact thinks HHH was a great performer and takes an unbiased approach to his review of that era in the WWE. is that Wrestlecrap book the worst gimmicks one?if so I have it en route.

This is the one I have. There's another Wrestlecrap book that is made up primarily of lists, but the first one is definitely the best one.

Bret's book is the greatest book I've ever read! It exposes the harsh realities of pro-wrestling and it also shows you how guys like Davey, Owen, Dynamite and Bret (of course) worked their way up the ladder. A must read for any wrestling fan!
Controversy creates ca$h was a decent read too. Reveals so much of the backstage politics back in dubya sea dubya.

Clearly the best book that was every written was Diana Hart Smith's book called "Under The Mat" because it's so full of lies and crazy stories that it actually got pulled off the market by her own family suing her about it.
I was lucky to buy it though when it came out, and it goes for some pretty big money now by the sounds of it.
Terry Funk's book was decent, so was Piper's book.
But my personal favourites are The Death of WCW, Dynamite Kid's, Bret Hart's and the two Jericho books.

I just recently read Lugers, good book but nothing special. Bret's book was amazing and has been the best one ive read to date. Bill Wyatts wrote a good book as well, i didnt know of Watts before reading the book just heard of him and when i read the synopsis of the book i decided to buy and glad i did. I would like to read Ole Andersons book but its hard to track down. I also have to give a special thanks to the board member grampyoldman as he was kind enough to send me Dynamite Kids book free of charge! That was also a good book but can you really believe anything Dynamite says? Ric Flairs book was probably the biggest dissapointment in my opinion considering the career he had i was really look for more depth but i thought it was a let down. I still must read Jerichos first book and Mick Foleys!

Really liked Bret & Jericho's books, though Bret definitely thought he was better than what he actually was (I always thought Owen was better).
I heard Bret may even write a book about Owen, though I could be wrong. I know Martha released one, but I prefer to avoid biased books.
Never been able to find Foley's first 2 or 3 books (not sure how many he's released, only saw Countdown to Lockdown), I'll try to find them probably after I've finished the Game of Thrones books, but that'll probably take me a while.

I'd like to know people's thoughts on Bischoff's - did anyone else find it as interesting as I did? -- I haven't read it, but I heard that after Bischoff left WWE, ShopWWE put his book on clearance for something like $2/each... Bischoff himself purchased the remaining stock from ShopWWE, at that clearance price. From a buyer/reseller stand point, that's freakin' genius!

Mick Foley's 1st book is my all-time favorite. I liked Bret Hart's because it was really detailed and he's always been my favorite wrestler. Chris Jericho's books were funny and good reads too. Eddie Guerrero's was short & sweet. I've read both of Hogan's and I enjoyed his 2nd one better, the 1st was more about his career, his 2nd was more personal. I picked up Jerry Jarrett's about the 1st year of TNA for my kindle, not sure if it was only released as an e-book or if there are hard copies, but it's a nice read. You get to see a lot of what it takes to start a new company and his mindset for the business when it comes to writing the shows.

I loved In The Pit With Piper. I thought it was great. The Stone Cold Truth was pretty good as well. I'm currently reading HBK's and am enjoying it so far. My book shelf has a few wrestling books still needing to be read. The books that I still need to read are:
Broken Harts: The Life and Death of Owen Hart by Martha Hart Gorgeous George: The Outrageous Bad-Boy Wrestler Who Created American Pop Culture by John Capouya Bobby The Brain: Wrestling's Bad Boy Tells All by Bobby Heenan
Next one to read will likely be Gorgeous George's. Has anyone read that one?
