Yeah, as an actual scholar in the study of all forms of media, wrestling definitely falls under "low culture" and you sound pretentious. ![:P](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/tongue.gif) Do you have a Bachelor's in Mass Communication? That is the only degree that I can think of that would remotely fall under the umbrella "all forms of media." Even Mass Communication isn't truly comprehensive, however. Even if it were, I'm not sure that would position you to pass judgment on all forms of entertainment. Unless you are saying that you are in a position to pass judgment because of your scholarly background. If that's the case, I have a Master's in Creative Writing and I disagree with your opinion. As an actual scholar, I believe wrestling can be artistic. Media Studies, but I never said it is not artistic. I just said it falls under "low culture". I actually do think it has artistic merits especially as a storytelling medium, but not to the extent the "scholar" is trying to make it out to be. And honestly, if one of my students sent me a paper that read like his post, he or she would not get a very good grade. All style, no substance.

2. The authors you mentioned were more comfortable being profane than being flowery. Go read their writings again. I would suggest you read their writings again. Twain, Austen, Hemingway and Eliot's writings show true mastery of the English language. Are there certain risque lines in their prose/poetry? Certainly, but every writer has their moments. As Twain once said, "Under certain circumstances, profanity provides a relief denied even to prayer.”

Their words are carefully calculated to make an impact and they write like the common man speaks. Well, Eliot may be the exception, but the rest do.

I agree with you about the others.

I can't believe the stupidity you are all displaying right now. Here's some profanity. You all have no ![](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/wfcensored.gif) ing argument or even the slightest comprehension of the artistry a truly poignant match requires. Harley Race is an artist & my single most enduring in-ring influence outside of my own great grandfather whom I never met. He is the type of wrestler I'm referring to. Bret Hart is a shining example of a wrestling master. They embody the prestigue picture side of the business. Will the douchebag who thinks I believe Shakespeare to be anything more than a plaugurising turd please stand up. Only 10 of my favorite wrestler( which is a list in the hundreds) have been alive while I have been & or active since 2005(My first year as a fan). So don't accuse me of such garbage. I'm still waiting for AN ACTUAL response that even remotely challenges the relevance & coherence of my COLLECTIVE BODY OF WORK which NONE OF YOU have even bothered to scratch the surface of. Saddest part is I believed wrestling fans would admire my thoughts, but I see that I am surrounded by hypocrites & people who believe themselves to be below me when I have done nothing, but try & meet the challenge of conveying my observations. I've been training in poetry since 2011 so will you unoriginal bastards stop the comparisons... He said Vernacular ONCE! He's a charicature of an superior intellect watered down to make the pseudo-intellectuals feel better about themselves. How's that for coherent & calculated words?

You lost credibility the moment you called the greatest English language writer in all of history a "plagiarizing turd." Do we really need to go on?
I'm sorry, but neither Hart, nor Race, nor any other wrestler for that matter is an "artist". Skilled and talented in the ring. Sure. Fun to watch. Absolutely. Artists? No. Again, let's call a spade a spade here. Wrestling is a low brow form of entertainment. That's it. Doesn't mean it isn't damn good fun, but let's not try to put flowers on turds here. No one watches wrestling because they want to be deeply moved emotionally. They watch wrestling because it's good entertainment and there's nothing at all wrong with that.
I have no clue what the "collective body of work" you are referring to is. Go ahead and insult me for that I guess.

There was never anything "artistic" about it. It was for "lower class" to Middle class people as a form of entertainment.
