Today I am looking in my storage bin with about 200 jakks figures(my jakks loose collection) anyways I found mold in the bin and I had all of this black stuff on my figures(may be the start of mold) I dump all my figs clean the bin and put all my figs in it to soak in water and soap. I hope it get the black stuff off my figs. Also my favorite jakks Jeff Hardy(figure that came with the ring and had purple hair) broke the arm is off and won't go back on. Just wanted to share will let you guys know if my figures are back to normal.

Wow man. Black mold is the worst. It's highly toxic and many people are highly allergic to it.

I'd get zip lock bags and put each figure in one, just to be on the safe side... Since they're sitting in a tote, moisture can get in the tote, creating mold. The bags should keep the figures safe, in case it happens again.

Wow, I'm glad it worked out. I've gotta admit, I'm a little nervous about my loose collection now that I think of it. I always kept them in my parents basement (so they were always nice & cool) but have been in their garage for the last year. I hope the elements didn't do any damage to them. I like the idea of the zip lock bags. I might need to do this too.

Next time put some cotton in the bin with your figures so what ever moisture is absorbed by the cotton and not the figures.
