Haven't updated my flea market pickups - got some of these last weekend and some of them this weekend.... both weekends, I got there when the dude was just putting them out, and both times he told me he had new (old) ones....
I usually dig through all the broken/markered/headless figs and pick out a few clean figures, the ones in the best condition I can find.... here's what I found on my last two trips:
I missed Classic Yoko the first time around, it's actually a pretty nice figure.... and I don't think I have this Hogan in my collection. Interesting that he's got finger-articulation... I never noticed that before.
Next, found a few of these.... I've seen this DDP a million times, but he always looks all broken and damaged... this one was a little dusty, but a damp cloth made it look like it just came out of the package.... and I don't know if I've seen this Scott Hall before, it's slightly beat but an overall nice representation of the wrestler!
Any time I can find good, clean Sting & HBK's for my collection (that I don't already have) it's a good flea market day.... this Sting has a wonderful rubber jacket. And again, I've passed up this Michaels several times because it was shredded, markered, etc. This one actually looks to be in very good shape....
I forgot that JAKKS used to do "T-Shirt Series" as well.... this must be the CM Punk one. A nice figure that I don't already have, so another great find.... And the guy noticed that I like Hogan - he pulled this out and said it was for me.... again, notice the finger articulation..... I kind of like that....
I don't know what possessed me to buy this Mayor McCheese - but he seems to be in scale with the JAKKS figures, and he's got a nice cloth outfit, so for two bucks - I decided to buy it and decide later whether I really want it or not. Not sure what I'm doing with him - but I'll think of something....
Finally, these were from last weekend - the guy said he'd have to charge me a whopping five bucks each for these giant figures.... I placed it next to the T-Shirt Daniel Bryan I also picked up so you can see the scale. I'd say this CM Punk & Sting were well worth five bucks each - considering I collect both and did not have these before....
*EDIT - I now know that this Maximum Aggression Punk has had a head switch with Edge.... I thought it was just a poor sculpt job. Oh well, gotta love the flea market..... at least I only lost five bucks.
Again, from last weekend - Commissioner Foley, not wild about this figure but it appeared to be in near-mint condition - so again, I figured buy-now, ask questions later. And my wife found this Sting - I said I'd get it, if nothing else the jacket's probably in better shape than some my older ones.... not bad...
So I spent $14 for all these figures..... then another $10 for the two larger Sting and Punks..... not a bad couple weeks of flea market hunting.
Since I still haven't found Elite 23 at retail - at least the Flea Market is keeping my figure inventory stocked! I can always count on those good old folks to have a pile of junky figures for me to root through! I wonder where they get them.... did the owners die? Or did the owners just grow up and decide they don't want to play with toys anymore?
Sometimes I consider myself a "figure rescuer" - pulling out the hidden gems from the piles of trash.
Thanks for looking!
