The SHAZAM! Multiverse line will only have 2 figures-Captain Marvel and Dr Sivana Has it been confirmed or are they holding figures because of spoilers? They’ve done that in the past.

I just hope they aren’t sculpted in a preposed position with the articlation being the afterthought like past lines they made. Because even though they were articulated they only looked good in the pose they were sculpted in. They Color Tops line started off like that, but they’ve definitely improved since. I think sales showed McFarlance people were looking for figures more in the style of the 5 inch Walking Dead line but larger.

I'm officially out of DC satisfied with what I got from Mattel to call it a closed book on the product. Not going to start with another company. Never was a big McFarlane toys guy, their stuff is nice but not really what I like.

McFarlane and articulation do not belong in the same sentence.

McFarlane helped revolutionize the figure industry two decade ago but since then have fallen behind in quality and articulation. I’ll wait to see protos but if their DC stuff is similar to what they produce now I’ll be out of the DC game except for random Batman figures.

The press release says that the McFarlane deal won't be exclusive and will focus on collector-oriented products. Sounds like McFarlane may be doing some higher end, limited POA figures while another company is doing more mainstream release action figures.
I've always been a big DC fan, but jumping between so many different lines and styles over the last few years has really killed any interest I had in collecting DC figures since they killed the Classics line. Guess I'll take a wait and see approach. McFarlane has been off my radar for a few years now, but they turned out some amazing work during the early 2000's.

Never was a big McFarlane toys guy, their stuff is nice but not really what I like. I’m kinda thinking that may be the inherent problem with selling DC figures. They’re best selling characters have super iconic looks and everyone has they’re preference on specific versions. Once we get what we want, it’s hard to keep us buying a line of characters or new designs we’re not invested in, or new lines where we have to rebuy what we already have.

I can see that being the case. However, nothing in the past 15 years from DC has satisfied me except for the NECA, Mafex and Mezco stuff they've done.

I wonder if that boxes NECA out even more on the DC stuff. I really wanted scaled down versions of Catwoman and Penguin from Returns. Seems like McFarlane is getting to do what NECA has been doing only in a mass release format. I guess we'll see. I expect them to be GoT style figures. So Color Tops, essentially.

DC Collectibles is ending, that’s why. They’re splitting their toy lines between 3 companies with McFarlane getting the collector market. At first they weren’t supposed to be going anywhere but as of yesterday they’re done after this year. I want one final set to end the yr. Red Hood, Sinestro, Lex Luthor and Robin. Either Drake or Damian.

I will get it because it’s Batman but that will be the only figure I buy from the new line, because it looks more like RoboCop playing Batman.

It looks cool but why 9"? Don’t quote me, but I think it’s because other companies got the rights for the other scales in their license agreements.
