It's amazing to not only see new customs from you but at the same time, your work gets better as you post. Some of these are really really good and all are decent. As mentioned above, it's not just the smooth clean paint work, it's the sculpt and head swaps that add so much, and not always seen in LJN customs. The Sid, Rude and Smash and stupidly brilliant. Excellent work dude, great stuff.

Agreed! Awesome work!
I'm also going to be posting some pics soon. Working on my first "batch". It is hard to decide when one is done because of how much detail the 8" figure calls for. In some cases, simple repaints with the LJNs can be the best call...Even restoring them to their original state.
Material wise I've found that Craftsmart brand SATIN finish paint is a nearly exact match to LJN paint. Less color varieties than other lines of Craftsmart but the satin finish is perfect. I pick it up at Michaels but it might be available at other places as well.

Mesteve, for add on sculpting I've been using Super Sculpy 3. It is easy to work with. Simply work with it on the figure until you get a look you like, bake it in the oven for 15-20 minutes and it is good to go. I place the figure on some aluminum foil on a pan when it is in the stove. The first time I was scared the whole thing would melt.
It is available in 42 colors but it is also paintable. Usually I try to get the color as close to the finish look that I can, making the final paint job an easier task.
Hope this helps.

Haha. Great call on doing the Red Rooster. Man, it seems like there is an endless list of guys that could be done from that era. Same with the Texas Tornado.

I've been experimenting with milliput for a couple weeks and since I've already started with that on two customs I'll probably finish with it. I'm not sure what would happen if I applied heat to it at this point. I'll try to post pics of my Andre and Hulk works in progress today. Andre looks like a mess right now though since I had to apply alot of milliput to him so far but I think he's coming along. I chose to make him standing up straight so I had to modify the legs completely.

Yikes! without giving any of my tricks away, dont use the oven! their are much faster and easier (and safer) ways to heat the sculpey. I do agree that sculpey is the easiest stuff to work with for these. as for the variety of colors I stick with white or tan and just paint over it as needed.

I'm lovin' Hercules and your Honkey. Nice work. I've always wanted to see a new version of Hercules. I think I saw recently someone had a good Paul Roma custom on Ebay. I would love someone to attempt Power and Glory someday.

After seeing these it makes me wish you worked for LJN back in the day! Great work, especially the Godwinns and the Moondogs.
Looking forward to the next round.
