I thought tonight's show was quite good.
Great KO's from Dodson and Gonzaga.
Melendez vs Sanchez was an absolute WAR. Very entertaining fight. The fans were the biggest winners coming out of that fight.
Cain Velasquez' stamina and conditioning is UNREAL. Cain pretty much smothered Junior in the cage and controlled the fight very well. Junior appeared gassed throughout the fight and didn't seem to defend himself very well. I give credit to Dos Santos for surviving that onslaught from Cain in the 3rd Round.

Of course, on the night when I had to work & miss a chunk of the show, I would miss a possible FOTY. I walked into the bar right as Diego was getting interviewed. Crap.
Nelson/Cormier was exactly what I thought it would be. Anyone else think that since Nelson got paid, he's just not fighting with the same intensity?
I thought JDS started out with a better showing, but I wasn't surprised when he face looked the same as it did from the 2nd fight. Cain is just on a different level.

Melendez/Sanchez was AMAZING! What a war. A fair result too - although another 2 rounds would have been great. What can you say about Cain? The guy is incredible... I can't see anyone even giving him a close fight, let alone beating him. Nelson/Cormier was exactly what I thought it would be. Anyone else think that since Nelson got paid, he's just not fighting with the same intensity? Just seemed like the same old Nelson to me - walk forward, get hit a lot, throw haymakers, walk forward, get hit a lot, throw haymakers...

Didn't see the show but did Cain just solidify his spot as a living legend. His trilogy with Junior was better than Randy vs Chuck (UFC Gods forgive me) and he dominated that boy in 2 straight fights from what I heard about last nights fight. JDS will have his time later in his career when father time catches up with Cain, which will at least be 5-6-7 years.

Other than the main event, I'm really looking forward to Melendez/Sanchez. I think that's the top candidate for fight of the night. Or rather, a top candidate for fight of the year.
