...was Triple H in the main Elite line? As far as updates go anyway? Obviously, not having Elites of people like David Otunga who was on every episode of Raw for months and months and he got glossed over for more Randy Ortons, such as E12 which I can still find at retail.
However, Triple H has only had one Elite in the main line, and it's okay to admit that a lot of the 2010 headscans were rough. Trips was flat out awful. Especially the one with the non-corrected hair.
There have of course been 4 other Elite styled Triple H figures (WM26, WM27, DM, and WM29) but not in the main line. And not utilizing any of the great looking long-haired scans from B10, B23, and BP17. Any of those, particularly B10 would have been fantastic as an Elite. I understand that WM27 had to use the scan it did out of necessity so that the headpiece would fit, but man, that figure without entrance gear is one of the low-points in my collection.
I can fix up a nice long haired Triple H, but I really feel like I shouldn't have to, since he's one of the biggest stars in the company, and he has a jillion basics. Couldn't one of the "I'm in every other lineup" Rey Mysterio figures have been cut to make room? Or the E13 Big Show which is the exact same as E10 without accessories factored in?
Who else is a person who drastically needed an Elite update and hadn't gotten it? I could have said Jack Swagger, but he is finally going to be in E27.
EDIT: Wow, thanks to East Coast, I totally forgot Elite 7. Elite 23 I haven't found, so it slipped my mind, and I wouldn't necessarily count it in what I was talking about since it's a flashback. I'm so tired that I had to re-read the sentence about Elite 7 before it dawned on me. Well, Elite 7 also had that lame scan.

well HHH has elite 2, 7 and 23
granted there should be more. Considering there seems to be alot of basics of HHH....and tons of different scans
HHH hasn't really changed his look.

I seriously just forgot completely about Elite 7. Holy crap. Now I feel dumb. Elite 23 does count, though I haven't found it yet, so that's why I forgot him. Geez, it's been a long day, maybe I should get off the board and go to sleep.

I hope we don't get another HHH for a while. After this amazing big book current figure and the flashback e23, we don't need any more for a bit unless it's shaved head coo to correct scale and has a neck!

2, 7, 23, BOPPV Cole and TRU exc.and DM are all elite.....I think he was also in another WM TRU set
I'd like to see either a game era HHH, like in the mcmahon/helmley days or the SS ladder match attire when he fought the rock

Yeah, HHH w/ attitude title in the hHh trunks and the metallic purple HHH w/ yellow ladder are huge wants of mine. I'd also love a King of the Ring/DX 1.0 version of HHH in that hunter-green robe. We'd have '97 represented with that one, '98 for the purple HHH and '99 for the heel My Time hHh in trunks.

For me, the biggest missed opportunity was releasing the green Eddie Guerrero as a basic instead of an elite. I begged for that figure for months on here and they finally made it in the line I don't collect. Still bought it and put it on my shelf though. YOU GOT ME MATTEL.
Runner-up is Wrestlemania X-8 Trish. That is the "defining moment" for her in my mind.
It also makes me sad that we never got Kaitlyn in one of her colorful attires, but that's clearly just me.

I think the biggest missed opportunity so far is the Mattel cheap asses not willing to spend their own money to sign Legends who arent under WWE Legends deals to make figures of. The thought process of "E18 Undertaker will sell better then a FB Ric Flair, FB Goldberg, FB Razor Ramon" just completely baffles me. You gotta spend money to make money. Jakks would sign Johnny Rodz and Mattel "the worlds leader in toys" wont even sign Ric Flair?? *smh*

Triple H figures are generally boring. i am happy that they are rarely released as Elites.

I would say as a Mattel WWE fan and I collect the majority of basic and elite both lines. The biggest missed opportunity was a real ring. The elite scale ring sold poorly due to it's cost and size. Not to mention the pressure was there to top the JAKKS one and have the masses return to buy another ring which was very similar to the one they bought a year prior. I don't know how they will deal with this now but I can't see how the fan base and Mattel are going to fix the issue with this because the corporation flat out told them no on any idea thus far but at the same time I don't see how we can go the full length of Mattel's run (which they will resign no doubt) and that is a multiple year could be upwards of (if they resign repeated deals) ten years or more and we will never have another full size ring?

For me the biggest missed opportunity was the legends 2 pack line.
That line could have sold. Sold well enough to last until the end of the legends line or have been able to be changed to something like the All-Stars 2 packs or Elite 2 packs.
They just chose the wrong debut series. Rockers should have been in series 1 along with Red LOD and I don't remember the exact time the series was released but maybe do something along the lines if a Rock/Austin pack if they were released via singles line.
I don't get why we got that 1st series. Bushwackers were popular but I don't think there was a demand for them. Sheik we had already and again, Nicoli (sp?) wasn't a "must need" figure. Same with Bob Orton. Piper is the only figure I'm think was a good idea.

Like I said, I was a lot more tired than I realized last night and I really should have been in bed because I did not get my point across at all looking back at what I typed.
The biggest missed opportunity, I tried to allude at, could be any number of things, such as Otunga Elite, ESR, Legends in mainstream attires (Jakks fans be damned as opposed to trying to court them with obscure outfits they wouldn't have), etc. etc. And those are bad. But when a given thing, a sure thing is skipped--That's what I was referring to.
Triple H is by no stretch my favorite wrestler. What he is, though, is one of the most important men in the company and he has been for some time. He's analogous in this line to Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman in a DC line, or Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor in a Marvel one.
To me he doesn't have a figure on my shelf that is the definitive version of him from 2001 to 2012. Point I was trying to make was that Mattel had the license for 3 years before he cut his hair, and yet 4 half-hearted repaints of the first scan, and an awful DM are all we had to show for it. And two of those Triple H figures were TRU exclusives, not main-line Elites, so for some people in countries without TRU, they might as well have not existed.
For the main line (series 1-24 so far) We skipped from elite 7 all the way to Elite 23 without a decent figure. The TRU ones don't count towards the main line, and also, like most TRU exclusives, they were a half-ass repaint to rake in cash with minimal effort.
I thought for sure when I grabbed B10 Triple H when it was new that a new Elite would come along with that scan and I would finally have my definitive figure for him. I can fix one up, but I feel like I shouldn't have had to, since he should have been a given.
Mattel's offerings from 2001-2012 era for Trips:
Elite 2: Hideous scan and hairpiece
Elite 7: Hideous scan and bad paintjob (and it was the DX people really didn't like)
Wrestlemania 26: Hideous scan, boring attire
Wrestlemania 27: Hideous scan, bad paint apps, GREAT ATTIRE AND ENTRANCE GEAR (the one I'm going to fix up)
Defining Moments: Hideous scan (worse than the first), stupid stupid stupid cloth jeans. Remove all the entrance gear and you have a gap between the hair and shoulders.
And yes, everyone is right, now it doesn't matter because he cut his hair and we have a great Elite of it at TRU this year (well, some of us do, overseas WFigs brothers, you're on your own I guess.) But Triple H will be remembered for what he accomplished and therefore what he looked like in the Ruthless era and shortly thereafter.
Oh, and don't forget the creepy Mailaway COO scan!

I kind of agree, but at the same time, Triple H in his black trunks and long hair just didn't need tons of elites. I think the Defining Moments figure of him was one of the biggest missed opportunities... I really don't know what they were thinking with the clothing.

I love the DM HHH.true I had to give him him the headscan from a basic WM heritage HHH to be fully pleased but yeah hes all good with me.
I LOVE the Elite 23 HHH now I have it in hand but if this attire had been RR99 it would be over the top in terms of excellence.

For me I always thought a missed opportunity was the way the Hall of Fame line at K-Mart was handled. If they would have simply changed the trunks/gear the wrestlers in that line had, it would have sold much better. Based on the people that were in the Hall, and also who they had signed back in 2010, they could have used Andre the Giant, George the Animal Steele, Paul Orndorff, Nicolai Volkoff, Iron Sheik, Roddy Piper, Bret Hart, Eddie Guerrero, Mr. Perfect, Jerry Lawler, Million Dollar Man, Kerry Von Erich, and Kevin Von Erich. Since 2010 we could have added Road Warrior Animal, Road Warrior Hawk, Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, Shawn Michaels, Booker T, Bruno Sammartino, Trish Stratus, Mick Foley, Yokozuna and Edge.
That is 24 people that could make up 3 or 4 lineups that could have given us alternative versions of the figures we have already seen. I always thought if they did alternative outfits to the standard releases, this line would have been much more successful, and was a missed opportunity for Mattel and K-Mart both.
