Few things about that. Deadspin is pretty much the tmz of sports. Chipper is kind of a douche. If that is true, which it easily could not be, it probably has more to do with Chippers attitude and other things he has said and done more than his prediction about the series. Braves deserved to lose for poor managing and awful defense alone. I still consider the season a good one considering the stiffs they had starting and how bad their hitters were. What? You don't share Lorenzo's opinion that if you don't win the WS you should've just finished last place?

I would probably feel that way if I were a fan if the most entitled team on sports and my formative years were during their dominant period.

Well, I can honestly say I am beyond disappointed with the Phillies season. Not the least because they finished in next to last place but because they fired a good manager in the process, re-signed aging players who weren't producing and finished up the season on a lovely 20-22 run after firing said manager. There's no youth on the team, next year they just get older and it just going to get way, way, way uglier. This is a team that is poised to finish last place next year or, at the very least, will compete with the Marlins to do so. Let's not get started on the Marlins 'cuz that is a bad, bad team.

Braves overachieved especially with their injuries, totally a positive season.
Hudson, Beachy, Venters etc. I mean.
But the fact that their best hitters decided to take October off is scary.

Huge home run by Peralta to tie this game up. Sox are still the team to beat in the AL.

The Braves played in a weak division and totally took advantage of it. I don't blame them for it. Washington was good, but not great. Philly sucked. The Mets sucked and the Marlins played like a AAA team. Can't blame them for running over a bad division though. Someone's gotta do it.

Sox gonna face tough opponents in A's/Tigers, gonna be a great series especially if it's Detroit they're playing.

Sox have trouble with the Tigers, but Miguel Cabrera is ed up. I think I'd rather have the Tigers.

I was at the game and the vibe was great. I'm thinking baseball wants a Dodgers/Red Sox world series. Now I'm just hoping the Pirates can advance to play us.

A playoffs that the Yankees didn't make, and the Braves got eliminated from? Ugh.
Here's hoping the Pirates' time has come.

I like Girardi. Very good manager, handles the media well, and he's done a good job of handling the massive egos in that clubhouse.

Someone left alone, forgotten about. If you havent seen Breaking Bad it doesnt make sense but that was what Kimbrel looked like when Carpentar blew the save. Arms crossed left waiting. Kinda like Huelle.

this Cano thing really pisses me off the Yankees really offered him 7 years/$161 million (awhile back of course), and that just wasn't good enough. seriously how much ing MONEY does a human being need? something needs to be done in baseball, these salaries are getting absolutely disgusting. and it's only getting worse because these foolish owners & greedy agents think it's really worth their time to give a guy who hits .300/25/100 a quarter billion dollars or more for the next decade paying superstars helps, helps you get bumped from a wild card spot, helps you fizzle out in the ALDS or helps you be last in the division. Of the 10 teams that made the playoffs (counting the 1 game wild card play-in): half (5) had 2013 payrolls LESS than $100 million....most of them significantly less. (Rays $57, Pirates $66, Oakland $68) and those 3 are actually in the bottom 5 overall payroll (only bested by the Marlins & Astros) only 3 of the top 10 2013 payroll teams even made the playoffs (dodgers, red sox, tigers) and 2 of those top 10 finished LAST in their division (Toronto & White Sox) 3 of those top 10 didn't even win 82 games!! (.500 record) - angels, giants & phillies id bet going back the last few years it's been the same story. point? paying guys $20-$25-$30 million a year is ing STUPID and it might pay off with 1 title in 10 years (see: New York Yankees 2003-2013) I kinda wish the Yankees WOULD stick to this $189 million thing....tell these overhyped and overpaid "superstars" to go off, we'll make the playoffs and win a title via other means, get good solid players who wont choke in October while they still get to cash their $200,000/game checks

You dont resign Robinson Cano, the Yankees finish 4th next year. Maybe last.
Not saying hes your whole team, but man, the Yankees barely break .500 without him.
Mind you its also ironic, a Yankee fan of all people complain at high salaries. Give Cano 30$ a year, but keep it at like 6ish years. Thats the key
