I posted my little colection so far a couple of days ago, and I've been getting very extremely little heat of not owning any Elite figs...but when Elite 27 comes out, I be sure sure to get Rikishi and RVD as my first two Elites. That's my goal. But back to the subject, who else collect only Basics? Curious......

I seriously don't believe many do. Basics aern't really collectors toys. Hense the name of an elite collection figure. Basics don't go for all too much most of the time, however some of the rare elites can go upto £300
They'redesigned better, have better articulation, great accesories (more realism and worth), better packaging, titles, whereas basics are plain and simply just a figure not a collectors item. Elites give me a real WWE feal with the entrance attires, props etc. yet basics to me are just plain boring

I own a decent amount of basics. I don't play with my figures and they display really well. I have chosen a basic over an Elite in cases like; the basic scan was better, I'm not an enormous fan of the wrestler, or if I didn't care for the accessories. For instance, I see no reason to buy an elite Sheamus or Randy Orton, unless I had to have the vac belt or the shirt. Still, I have around 150 figs, and probably 75% are elites. And that is because that's where we get the flashbacks, legends, defining moments, etc.

Elite/Basic makes no difference to me if it's a wrestler I like I buy it. I have plenty of both styles.

I was actually half tempted to give up my Elite collection and start doing only Basics, but then I look at Elite figures like all of the different attires on the Elite Punks and think "NO WAY can I give up these awesome figures." Eventually, I would l like to convert all of my Basics into Elites, but I think with people like Khali, that will never happen.

I get both because some basics look better than the elites

I prefer basics, as I do not like the gut joint. I do have plenty of Elites however, and buy more for the accessories.

I only collect Basic figures and have since Elite series 2. I don't like the look of the stomach joint on the Elites. The ankles on the Elites that I bought needed to be glued, meaning an extra $3 for glue. I was around for Jakks, where accessories came with both RA figures and DA figures. To me, Elites are a rip off. So, no, you are not the only one who ONLY collects Basic figures. There is nothing wrong with Basic figures.

I mainly collect basics. I really don't need "84 points" of articulation, LOL, in my figures and IMO I feel that the extra articulation takes away from the whole look of the figure and I am most definitely not a fan of the gut articulation.
I do collect specific Elite figures such as TRU and RSC exclusives which I keep MIB.
I do admit though that Mattel does a fantastic job with the extra accessories that are included with Elite figures.

I collect both, but there are several instances where I think a basic has the better looking figure over an elite. For displaying in wrestling attire, the basics get the nod from me because they do not have that ab crunch messing up the sculpt. For entrance gear displaying obviously the elites get the win. I don't see why so many people frown upon collecting both styles. I look at it as the only way to have a complete collection. I will, however, say that during the jakks days I absolutely hated the da figures for not being in the same scale as ra figures. That's why I have been thrilled that mattels basics and elites are totally compatible. Why not get both........

I collect Basics. I have very few Elites. The only time I get Elites is for certain scans and attire otherwise I buy Basics.

I only collect Basics. I'll buy Elites for accessories and belts but then I sell the figures in the classifieds.

AGAIN WITH THE PERIODS MAN.
I get both, but I have way more Basics than Elites, simply because they're 10 bucks and not like 17.
I like money.

I collect both when i like an elite a buy an elite and when i like a basic a buy a basic!
I prefer elite over the basic... basic figures are poor of accesories and lack of details... I buy a basic only if there is not an elite version... or if i like his attire!!!
Example: i bought kane elite for the grey mask, ziggler for the jacket and the tshirt, undertaker for the coat, cody for the coat, sandow for the vest, rey for the double mask, Ryder for the belt ecc.....
I love accesories so i love the Elite figures!!!

I mainly collect basics. I'll buy an elite version if the basic just isn't up to the standards I think it should be. Like John Cena for example, I prefer to have everything to go on my John Cena figure rather than just his plain wrestling attire.

I went through a stage where I only collected elites loose, then a stage of basics moc, then back to elites moc, then basics loose. Yeah, I dabbled with both kinds. I think basics are better than elites honestly.

My basics are mostly ripped off of their parts (head, arms, boots & pads sometimes calves) and stowed away in boxes.
I'm an elite collector and i love the look of the abcrunch, hips, ect.

I buy both, it all depends on if I want the accessories or not. Considering I can get 2 basics for the price of 1 elite I'm now going for basics more often.
Even basic punks don't bother me because I always add the Pepsi tattoo and get a shirt for them so you don't notice the lack of colour on the chest.
