I know, yet another mattel Hogan thread; please don't hit me! Haha anyway, I've been reading some reports this morning that hogan did an interview where he said HHH told him recently that the door would always be open for him to return. I'm starting to believe a return is more possible now than ever, especially with Manias 30th anniversary coming up. In terms of different designs/tooling for a Hogan, I was thinking about the boas he would inevitably come with. Should they be soft goods or sculpted plastic? The jakks ones were pretty horrendous; They were too large and would shed. I personally think sculpted would be a better route if done correctly. They would look awesome (think of the feathers on the goldust robe) and would be form fitting on the figure. Now, obviously poseability would be crucial too. So what do you guys think? What would you want to see? ... if/when of course

Rubber for sure. Compare Alberto's cloth scarf to the rubber one.

Sculpted boas that followed the contour of Hogan's body would be fine with me. Before you mentioned it in your post, the feathers on Goldust's robe immediately came to mind.
Along the same lines, I'd love to see them include two shirts with Hogan - one normal tanktop with the 3 rips in the back and one that's sculpted to look like he's ripping it down the front.

I really think the Hogan figures they make could be the best figures they ever make.

Hogan would have to come with a cloth shirt. Rubber would ruin the figure and Hogan. Or, if they went nWo the WHC with nWo sprayed onto it with a weight belt would probably be what's made.

Is it strange that my most wanted Hogan fig is his 2002 Hulk Still Rules look? I dunno, I figure they will do NWO Hogan before the 2002 Hogan but for the most part it will be a straight up repaint, Mattel wouldn't have to use any new moulds.

Aw man, hell yes to a Mr. America. I remember being so pumped when he was going to be the mail-away Wrestlemania ticket promotion figure. and then it got canceled I love the idea of Hogan coming with 2 shirts, one being normal and the other being a sculpted 'torn' shirt. Man, that'd be sweet especially if done right. I can just imagine how cool that would look.

I also think that when they can finally make Hogan, that he should be almost 100% new tooling...arms, torso, legs. Make it as good as possible, unlike Jakks who just cheaped out and reused the same-old stuff.
I think they'd easily earn back the cash to warrant new tooling, and then some.
Question though: Since Hogan isn't currently with TNA, could Mattel reach out to him, like right now while he's a free agent? I'm just thinking, heaven forbid he goes back to TNA and that window of opportunity is closed.
But maybe it wouldn't matter that he's not under TNA? Like if his Jakks deal is technically still valid whether he's with TNA or not? Or could it be once a wrestler is gone from the promotion, their jakks deal is voided?

They would know he would be a cash cow. I have no doubt they'd get to every look he had, including Mr. America, and even his early AWA/WWF white and blue look,or even the 70's/early 80's with cape.

If Hogan is signed here's how I'd like to see it go down:
Mid 2014- First Hogan prototype is shown: Basic Hulk Hogan in yellow trunks, red knee pads, yellow boots. Elite Flashback Hulk Hogan: Yellow Trunks, Red Knee Pads, Yellow Boots, removable CLOTH Hulkamania shirt, removable bandanna.
Late 2014- RSC Exclusive for the Holiday Season: Elite Flashback 2003 Hulk Hogan - Hulk Still Rules Cloth Shirt and Plastic Bandanna, Red and Yellow Boas, Vac Undisputed Title. Mold the Weight Belt on as part of his torso. Elite Flashback nWo Hulk Hogan with cloth nWo shirt and Plastic Hollywood Bandanna and the belt from E16 Kevin Nash

Rubber Boa would be miles better. And while we are at it I could also see Mattel making a rubber shirt that appears to be ripped and fits it Hogan's hands. I hated Hogan but who wouldn't want a 80's Hogan ripping his shirt?

I really like this idea as it would be cool to pose him in the 'ripping' shirt. They could go the same route as the Deluxe Aggression, where the velcro attachment is in the front, I'm sure Mattel Elite figures would be able to be posed in the shirt ripping pose better than the Deluxe Aggression. But I like your idea with the 2 shirts better than the velcro attach in the front.

I actually liked the Jakks ones. But am not apposed to them trying plastic ones. If i don't like them I can always dust off my old Jakks ones. FYI if you think they are too bit you can take some scisors to them and trim them down a bit. But I reccomend doing this outside as it can get messy.
