Why do people dislike Sheamus so much?!?!? I was watching MITB and he was getting some pretty bad responses;but IMO he had some great moments not only in the match but in his career and I think he's great for a brawler even though I'd prefer to watch Punk/Bryan/Ziggler/Rhodes/RVD etc.(the smaller guys)I enjoy his work and can't wait for his return!
Your thoughts?

He's good in the ring, but his character is so incredibly cheesy and childish that it's embarrassing to watch. He needs to go heel.

Sheamus is outstanding in the ring. I think his gimmick during his World Heavyweight Championship build up was really the best way to go with Sheamus. He would have limited to no mic time, come out and wrestle a fantastic 10 to 15 minute match and Brogue Kick everyone under the sun.

Sheamus is the babyface version of Alberto Del Rio imo. He doesn't connect with the audience because his character sucks, but WWE refuses to do anything about it and continues to shove it down our throats.
Sheamus can have great matches, he's had great matches with the likes of Bryan and Ziggler. However, every time he touches a microphone I prepare to cringe. He's no more over than any other top midcard talent, but he's managed to win the WWE Title twice, a KOTR, a Royal Rumble, and the WHC for over 200 days. There was a period around KOTR where I thought Sheamus was never coming back from the abyss. On some level, he's John Cena light. Yeah, he's better in the ring, but he's worse on the microphone and his lines are just as corny. It's 2013, fans see right through that sh*t.
They have an opportunity to bring him back and do something different with him. I hope they take advantage of it.

Scottish Cena is why I hate him. All those stupid stories about potato's and shit. He was a great world heavyweight champion though.

He needs to be a legit serious face or a legit serious heel. Not a cheesy face or a pu*** heel. Same for Del Rio.

Anyway, aside from that, Sheamus, I don't mind, his childishness gets a little wearing, but I can say his stuff with Damien Sandow earlier in the year was funny, I thought, but other than that, we don't need heel Sheamus, we need the big, violent, ready-to-fight babyface we got at the VERY beginning of his run as a face.

Sheamus is nowhere near being a face Del Rio. At one point, Sheamus was very over, from his initial face turn throughout most of his World Title reign. A lot of the IWC just overlooked that because he beat Daniel Bryan in 18 seconds. The point is, Sheamus got himself over to get where he is. Del Rio got everything handed to him because someone's touched in the head and doesn't realize he's awful.
As a really big Sheamus supporter, I do think he was starting to get a little stale character-wise. I'm thinking a return at the rumble will help him out again though.

Bring him back as heel. Have it like Daniel Bryan getting beat down by the Shield and Triple H and have Sheamus come out like he is making the save, and then have him Kick Bryans head off to start another fued between them. Could work considering Triple H and Sheamus' history.

I believe people think he got his main event spot because he's Triple H's teacher's pet.
His character got stale because he faces either Del Rio or Big Show in something like 10 straight PPVs. Also, he would have matches on RAW & Smackdown. It was just too much 'fella' for me.
He needs a program with someone other than ADR and Show...maybe that would get my attention. I think that's why 'Heel Sheamus' would be a good idea. I would have loved to see him feud with RVD or Jericho, but since they're part-timers, a feud with a babyface Cesaro would be interested.

Sheamus is incredibly entertaining in the ring, but his corny gimmick is tiresome. I have no problem with him being a babyface, but he just needs some edge.
