I'm just browsing Netflix and wondering if it's worth watching?

Loved it as a kid. But it was always just a Pokemon clone to me.

Loved it when I was like 8. But it really isn't worth your time getting into, it's always been the knock-off Pokemon. What type of show are you looking for exactly? I could recommend some stuff.

I dont get how people are saying Digimon is a clone of Pokemon, as you may know Pokemon is still on air and that series havent changed a thing (besides the look of the pokemons themselves) since episode 1, Digimon on the other hand while it begins slow it gets really good and dark after the first few episodes, it has likeable characters, very good villians and a nice soundtrack but I would recommend watching it in japonese with subs because the english dub is just god-awful with the amount of puns it has making the series ridiculous and childish and replacing the japonese soundtrack with lame music. If you are into anime it's worth watching.

You do know Origins has nothing to do with Ash and his story(which is still on air, btw) which is the series that was competing with Digimon in the 90s, right?

Love Digimon, namely the first 3 seasons (The third is especially dark)
Ive recently gotten the first two season on DVD, the third will be coming soon.
Its just really entertaing to me for some reason. Nothing like Pokemon in my book, which I love just as much. I did notice the Japenese dub is on Netflix, If it didnt take enough time for me to power through 54 episodes of S1 Id definitely watch it. I just need to give it time.
Its definitely slow to start so you have to commit to it to get the full experience.
When I got back into it recently I actually watched S2 before S1 because S2. 2 was much quicker to get into the action.
But for the record, Pokemon is now copying Digimon with the Mega-Evolutions. All of a sudden Pokemon can go to a higher Level then revert back down? Blatent.
Omnimon > All.

Really, all Digimon did was take an animal and strap lasers, rockets and all kind of violent crapon them. Wasn't very creative at all.

The third season was okay, but where it really started going downhill and I started losing interest. But hey maybe the Japanese version is better. Haven't watched anything Digimon related in years. (Unless you count a Nostalgia Critic review of the movie and even that was a year ago)

I really liked it for the first 3 seasons or so (Gatoman <3 ).
The season where the people became Digimon is when I was out though..

I liked Digimon (the first few seasons). It was the repetitive stuff that Pokemon put out.

I remember seeing previews for the show on FOX and my nephew and I were big Pokemon fans laughed at how it was a cheap Imitation of Pokemon

Just for the sake of comparison... lets compare
Digimon: Protagonists get one Digimon a piece. They all talk They inhabit the Digital World and cross into Earth. They "Digivolve" to higher levels, then revert (including fusion of Two Digimon or Digimon and Humans) Digimon depicts death Antagonists are evil powered Digimon who look to maim and kill. Digimon and partners are paired for specific reason/destiny.
Pokemon on the other hand, has not had a different forumla since day one. Not saying its a bad thing whatsoever, dont fix whats not broken, but the series has always been about Ash going to a different region, making new friends, and battling Team Rocket. Which Im content with, but when you get down to it Digimon and Pokemon are really nothing alike.
But for the counterargument, ill compare similarites: Digimon vs. Pokemon (Digital Monsters vs. Pocket Monsters) Digivice vs. Pokeball (?) (Device needed to make Digimon evolve vs. Storage container for Pokemon) Digivolve vs. Evolve (Digimon go to higher levels, then revert back down vs. permanent Evolution) Tai vs. Ash (Pretty much identical)
Thats about it as far as similarities I can come up with. Which basically amounts to nothing.

I used to like Digimon, not as much as Pokemon though. My favorites were Angemon, Angewomon and Devimon.

What type of show are you looking for exactly? I could recommend some stuff. Just some good animated stuff some may not be aware of.

I'd probably suggest looking into different anime, cartoons here in the United States have become so craplol. The "best" anime to start off with is usually something like "Full Metal Alchemist" "Cowboy Bebop" "Trigun" "Death Note." I've heard incredible things about all four of these you should check them out.
