Haven't done a lot of dealing on Craigslist.... thought I'd give it a go, since retail hasn't been too kind to me lately with the Mattel stuff.... gotta keep myself occupied somehow.
Saw a HUGE awesome lot of JAKKS stuff - the guy wanted $2000, I don't have that kind of scratch to drop of figs, plus I have most of the ones in his listing that I wanted - except for the ones I picked up today..... $160 for the lot of 8 figures I selected, not sure if I got an okay deal or if I completely spent too much... at any rate, I added some good stuff to my collection and filled in a few gaps. If Mattel would pump out a few more legends, and more figures, more frequently - they'd probably get more of my money!
Here's what I got...
Toyfare Exclusive Hogan - the packaging on this is pretty bad, I may just open it up, hardly worth displaying MOC.... I haven't completely decided yet. It's always bugged me that this was not part of my Hogan collection, so at least I have it in some form....
This Hogan was also missing from my collection until today - I don't even quite remember where this was sold..... the dude kept calling him "Rip".... I'm not sure if this is actually supposed to be Hogan's No Holds Barred character (since his bandana says "Hulkster"), but he's a welcome addition to my collection.
I already have this Hogan - but not the "variant belt" version. So I added him to the list of "gets"....
This was a pleasant surprise - I didn't realize from the guy's list that THIS was the Slaughter he was referring to - I quickly added it to my list of "gets"..... I like this one a lot!
I also didn't realize the guy had a 1/3000 Piper, another surprise! - I've always secretly wanted this but never got it..... the carding is a little dented on the back of this, I think I can still display it though..... I'd rather not open it..... might like to get it signed someday....
I've met Snuka a few times - always kicked myself because I don't have his Classic figure to add to my "Wall of Fame". So I grabbed it, the carding is actually pretty good on this one....
I met Duggan a few weeks ago, and also kicked myself - I didn't own his Classic Superstar. So, if I get to meet him again, this time I'll be more prepared.... same for Tito Santana. Both of these are in great condition....
So that's the stuff I got from the dude..... I guess it breaks down to $20 per figure, which isn't too bad.... some are worth less, a few might be worth more.... at any rate, several nice additions to my JAKKS collection, especially the Hogans....
I also received my Ringside Collectibles loose figures I ordered the other day.... I'm very happy with these deals. Almost caught up on my Macho Man collection! Here he is with his queen..... both beautiful figures....
Stopped off at a yard sale today.... found these guys, in great condition - 3 for $5.... so I grabbed these selections....
Also slightly updated my WrestleMania 29 shelf.... STILL looking for the TRU Exclusive Triple H! I just want to find that, plus a few WM29 Basics - and I'm taking a break from collecting for a little while....
Also been updating my WCW shelf... this actually needs a lot of work, I need to find one of those old Nitro stages.... then I'll really make this look nice. For now, it's kind of a hodgepodge of WCW type stuff....
Finally, found a few strange figures at the flea market that had nice "druid" type robes... I picked up three, may eventually do an Undertaker display complete with druids.... for now, I did this....
