Just something I thought would be a good topic. What's your fondest memory of gaming? I have some, but the one I go to is playing Rock Band for the first time. I remember getting the full band bundle and then immediately driving to my mom's - it was Thanksgiving weekend. I took the bundle to my friend's house and cracking into it and me, my then girlfriend, friend and his girlfriend played for about 5 or 6 hours haha.
What brought this memory up was while I was at work, Learn To Fly by the Foo Fighters played on my phone and I remembered that was the first song I ever sang on the game. And man, was I bad back then. I won't say I'm good for a real band but but I'm much better a singer bow 6 years later than I was that first night. That's probably my favorite gaming memory. What about you guys??

Playing Metal Gear Solid 1 under my stairs when I was 8. Playing Metal gear solid 2 when I was 12 till my eyes bled. Resident Evil 3. Just Resident Evil 3 in general.

Watching one of my cousins play the first Resident Evil back in like 98 with my other two cousins there as well. We were all sitting around on the bed, in the dark, and then that damn dog comes crashing through the window and my female cousins flips out. She accidentally backhands my other cousin who was watching and he back rolls off the bed. We still bring it up to this day when we are all together and get a good laugh.

I used to love the olden days when me and all of my XBox friends would go onto Private Games on Halo and we would dick around in game types like Chicken Hunt, Demolition Derby, Duck Hunt among others. It was just endless hours of fun.
I guess on my biggest was on my own playing Pokemon for the first time. I had a Sega but I never was really allowed to play it because I had one TV in the house at the time, so when my godmothers friend got me a Gameboy Color and Pokemon Red...a game I had never even heard of...I was excited to finally be able to play a game without the TV. I remember spending 3 hours in the upstairs room of Reds house because I was like...4 and did not know how to get out of that room (did not know there were stairs). I almost gave up, thank goodness I kept at it. I remember traveling around the Kanto region with my Bulbasaur and company in tow and that exhilarating feeling when I defeated Blue to become Champion. That started an important chapter in my life because, believe it or not, I came into knowing two of my best friends to this day because of our mutual love of Pokemon. And it all started with a choice of three Pokeballs on a table for me to pick and all of that and such. Haha.

These three standout the most for me: - First time playing GTA: Vice City. I had never really played a game where(I thought at the time) I could go and do anything. It was grand!
- Playing the Ratchet & Clank/Sly Cooper trilogy's in the mid 2000's.
- Seeing the world in TES:IV Oblivion. I had never played Morrowind(nor even heard of it) so I had no idea exactly what kind of game this was, but after I got out of the sewer for the first time, I was amazed at how much freedom the game was giving me with.

I guess one that sticks out, is when I was maybe 13 or 14, and I spent the whole weekend playing FFVII, trying to finish it off. I had played for the last few weeks off and on. Anyways, Sunday morning comes, and I stroll down stairs to make me some waffles to eat. I get back upstairs and start playing again while my waffles sit idle.
I didn't realized I was as close as I was to the end. I descended into the crater, and needless to say I ended up wasting my breakfast as I got lost in the fight. It is one of my fonder moments in gaming xD

So many. Winning the FA Cup on FIFA 12 with Anderson's 93rd minute slaloming run through the Liverpool midfield before scoring from 25 yards. Winning the treble on FM 10 on a network game with McBlake by beating Barca 2-0 in the CL final (who still owes me his half of the bet). Giggs scoring a free kick in his last ever game on FIFA 13. My favourite goal on FIFA 11 - 2-0 down to Inter in the CL QFs and Rooney makes a break down the left, puts in a low cross which Nani gets with a diving header through the slimmest of margins between the post and gk. He picks up the ball and I go on to win 3-2 (the goal was more spectacular than it sounds). Beating Hammersmith Hardman 7-1 on FM 13. Completing Fallout 3 for the first time. Sniping all of Cottonwood Cove with Boone on Fallout: New Vegas. Sniping people from the stadium on GTA Vice City. Getting to the centre of DC on Fallout 3 for the first time. Playing GTA V for the first time. The first time I took over the whole map on Rome Total War. Reaching Level 70 on COD:MW2. The last couple of hours of Assassins Creed II. The assassinations in Assassins Creed I. A match on SD vs. Raw 2006 between HBK and Kurt Angle. The hours spent on GM Mode in SD vs. Raw 2006. The hours spent playing Pokémon Stadium and Pokémon Snap on N64. Croc 2 on PS1. Completing Super Mario 64 DS My village on the original Animal Crossing for GameCube. The incredible goal my mate scored with Scholes when we were playing eachother on FIFA 13. Walking through Red Dead Redemption. Walking through the Capital Wasteland. Mucking around on campus in Bully. So many more that I'm forgetting.

I have three sentimental gaming memories.
- I came home from church when I was little (Yes I was a little bible thumper until I was maybe 12) with my mother. My dad yells from my parents bedroom, "Hey buddy, come check this out!". I walk into the room and there's a NES set up and my dad sitting there playing a RC Pro Am. Next to him was a pile of maybe 4-5 other games. It may seem dumb but it was one of those sentimental memories that was a quintessential Dad moment if you knew him, and since he's passed one of my favorite memories of him being him.
- X-Mas time. The family colluded to get me a SNES. My dad's side of the family bought me the system and a few games while my parents bought me even more games. I was clueless to this fact because my mom is the type of person whom the $500 TV she bought 10 years ago is still just as good as any in a store today. Perfect example...I wasn't allowed to have Hasbro WWF figures because "You have those big rubber guys (LJNs) and don't need to start buying another size!". I was actually too young to appreciate most of the LJNs I had because I wasn't into WWF until 94-95, Dad just knew I liked wrestling and would bring home LJNs from the flea market. Back on track...X-mas morning, I run to the living room and start opening gifts. My mom having no clue, gives me a VHS shaped gift to open. I rip the paper to reveal a SNES...then another SNES game...then another. In my head I am disappointed because I didn't think mom would allow me to get a Super Nintendo since "You have a NES and a bunch of games for it!", and I thought I would be spending my day after X-mas returning about 15 games. Then dad, being dad, pulls over a bigger box and goes, "I think you were supposed to open this one first". Behold, my SNES! Thanks for swerving me on that one mom!
- I'll keep this one short...I lost a good friend 2 years ago, and one of my fondest memories of him were notorious Super Smash Bros. tournaments in a mutual friend's basement that would always turn into actual brawls. This was mid high school so Smash Bros. was legit business...especially when a certain friend's coolest mom ever let you safely get ripped on super cheap beer in the basement.
