Okay, now we know basically what we will get for Elites in any given year: 6/7 regular series, and 2 BAF sets. Now, we already know three regular sets and the first BOPPV set so that cuts a lot of the speculation down. But so does looking at the roster and what we usually have gotten from Mattel over the years. This is just based on educated guesses but I've done a fairly good job with that over the past year. I think we will see:
A.J. Lee w/Divas title
Alberto Del Rio (BOPPV Spring confirmed)
Big E Langston (E26 confirmed)
Big Show
Bray Wyatt (E28 confirmed)
Brodus Clay (E25 confirmed/released)
C.M. Punk (BOPPV Spring confirmed)
Cody Rhodes
Curtis Axel (BOPPV Spring confirmed)
Daniel Bryan
Dean Ambrose (E25 confirmed/released)
Fandango (E27 confirmed)
Goldust
Jack Swagger (E26 confirmed)
John Cena
Kane
Kofi Kingston (E27 confirmed)
Mark Henry (E26 confirmed)
Randy Orton (BOPPV Spring confirmed)
Rey Mysterio
Rob Van Dam (E27 confirmed)
Roman Reigns (E26 confirmed)
Ryback
Seth Rollins (E25 confirmed/released)
Sheamus (E25 confirmed/released)
Sin Cara (E25 confirmed/released)
Tensai/Sweet T
Undertaker (E27 confirmed)
I held out some of the guys that were in E24 because I wasn’t sure we’d see much of an update. Dolph in particular, that one is still fairly up to date at this point, so they could swap him back in if he gets pushed again but for now I think he’s out.
So, between E28, 29, and 30 and the fall BOPPV set, we should see:
A.J.
Big Show
Bray Wyatt
Cody
Goldust
John Cena
Kane
Rey Mysterio
Ryback
Tensai
+ give or take four Flashbacks. That leaves 8 spots for more characters. Obviously, it would be no surprise to get a second C.M. Punk or Randy Orton in the regular line, so that’s 6.
MDT said that we could expect more tag teams in the Elite line. I think the top two teams I would expect are the Usos and the Wyatt Family. Usos for the colors and Wyatts for the accessories. That only leaves two spots left. Will the trend of having even more Flashbacks continue later into the year? If I had to guess what we could expect, I’d say something like this:
Elite 28
Bray Wyatt
John Cena w/yellow shirt
Rey Mysterio
Tensai/Sweet T
FLASHBACK
FLASHBACK
Elite 29
A.J. Lee w/Divas title
Daniel Bryan w/new WWE belt
Randy Orton
Luke Harper
Erick Rowan
FLASHBACK
Elite 30
Big Show
C.M. Punk
Jimmy Uso
Jey Uso
FLASHBACK
FLASHBACK
Elite 31
Cody Rhodes
Goldust
Kane
Ryback
FLASHBACK
FLASHBACK
BOPPV Fall (Wrestlemania 30)
John Cena
(whoever fights the Undertaker)
(World Champion)
(WWE Champion)
Feel free to move this to the suggestion board, I guess, but these aren't really my suggestions… just what I would guess. Does this inspire a lot of excitement in the future of the line to you guys? With what has already been announced/released, this would give us 11 debut Elites, 10 Flashbacks, one “re-debut” character in Goldust, and 26 rehashes. I’m not sure how that fares against old years but I think I’d be fairly happy with that ratio.
Rip me/agree with me/be indifferent to me as you wish. I figure it’s more interesting than speculating how long it will take to get somebody’s updated attire they wore for the first time 20 minutes ago.
