People are probably realizing that Mattel isnt going to release anything that people over 25 know so they're going back and buying up figures of what was hands down the best throwback line in wrestling history. Even with all its flaws. Jakks RA style figs have by far the most impressive line up ever. Especially now that they've got Sting and Jarrett through the TNA license and even the most famous ref ever (Hebner), as well as a couple of lesser guys like Raven and Terry Taylor. The CS line alone was impressive but in the RA line there were guys like Billy Gunn, Hurricane, Fit Finlay, Test, A-Train, Chavo, Benoit, Tatanka who got some really good figures made. So you have all those guys (plus more) to add to your CS collection in the exact same style. CS Tatanka sucked but the RA one is one of Jakks best figures ever made IMO. Mattel will never construct a line even half as good as that. It's a shame we never got Steamboat, Savage or the Texas Tornado in the Jakks style. But I'd say all the guys we got that Mattel will probably never make (Dynamite Kid, Abdulah, Gorilla Monsoon, Sting etc etc) are worth more than those three guys. I bought the CSDA exclusive Sting for dirt cheap just to put that cool jacket on the classic one.

I agree for the sheer diversity of the roster alone I was glad I didn't make the switch to mattel, discounting the current roster there has only been a handful of legends that jakks didn't make in the RA style that mattel have made anyway. By my reckoning it is just the following Road Dogg Kevin Von Erich Kerry Von Erich Ricky Steamboat Randy Savage Magnum TA (doesn't really count as it wasn't released at retail) Miss Elizabeth

Road Dogg hasn't been released yet has he? But yeah, in terms of roster (and attire choices too) Jakks has Mattel beat. I also generally prefer the look of Jakks figures, and the quality of their head scans too (I find a lot of Mattel heads to look horrendous). Even though Mattel's scale is obviously better, Jakks to me is the superior product. I'll never sell my CS figs, I have nearly a complete collection (I even have 90% of the exclusives as well as 2 1/100 figs and the 1/500 Billy Graham).

I would want the CS Lance Storm so damn bad but it typically goes for $30-50 on ebay, always MOC. I want it loose anyways. I don't know if I just got unlucky, but mine went moc for £13 about summer time just there. Funny thing was I only paid £4.99 for it in a forbidden planet in 2010 when I was getting back into collecting. I loved that figure, but it always gave me a good laugh since half the head is covered by the packaging he's that out of scale.

I just picked up a 3 pack demolition classic superstars set for 50 mint condition did it make out good Not like it was a great deal BUT you aren't going to find it much cheaper. A lot of those 3 packs have dries up (minus Samoans and Lou and the Hogan/Brutus/whoever thing). If I would have seen it for $50 I would have bought it crazy to think they were at marshalls stores back before CS ended….I'd seen them super cheap but already had them

Bit off topic, but have you ever seen classics at a market or second hand collectible shop and when you question them on the price they say, "they don't make them anymore, they're expensive these days", or something along those lines.
I think that's why the price is slightly raised. It's the same on eBay, people always put that in the description as if they're worth hundreds.

I have a bunch of the classic figures that I'm thinking about dumping to help complete my hasbro collection.
